  1. Lexus quoted me 700 quid for the job, which they reckon is mainly labour costs...but the bloke in the workshop told me, other than it being a bit annoying, not to worry about it too much. The problem with the job, is that the pipe runs down the back of the engine bay, and is akward, but I have heard of some people doing the job themselves!!!!! Sorry I can't help you Stew ;)
  2. No problems You can drop me an e-mail on:- stew.s@blueyonder.co.uk And i will send you the details, I've already e-mailed half a dozen members or so..... cheers Stew :)
  3. Hi all I have put a post on the LS forum, with regards to repairing a twisted seat... If anyone needs any help, i can supply details for the repair via e-mail, along with a photo guide. Cheers Stew :winky:
  4. Dear all Guess what?....That problem i had with my drivers seat twisting on recline, well i've only gone and sorted it. After a Lexus main dealer telling me that my seat was unrepairable, and then cracking a joke! by telling me the good news ,that a new one was £3000 ish, I thought ,sod it ,time to have a go..... Firstly ,i have to say that this does seem to be quite a common problem on the LS400, and although i did receive a few suggestions from the owners forum, nothing really helped. Even the blow up drawings of an LS400 seat from the lexus main dealer computer turned out to be incorrect!. I have taken some digital pictures of the damaged area of the seat ,and intend to draw up some kind of picture repair guide, showing all the internals of the seat etc for anyone out there ,who is suffering from the same fault. I seem to remember way back in February when i posted a request for help, there were a few members who had this problem. The only thing that may give me grief, is getting it on to the site, but if i can't , members can get hold of me via my e-mail address if required Cheers Stew :winky:
  5. Hi all Coud someone help me out here! I am trying to change my avatar setting, so as to have a picture of my lex instead of a smiley, or what ever else is in those selections, but I'm having a few technical difficulties. Its a DENSO 10PA20C COMPRESSOR YOU REQUIRE.. I paid £180 for it and £50 for my local AC guy to fit it hope this helps regards STEW try these:-JAPPARTS-01642672255 NIPPON SPARES-02085190500 JAP CAR PARTS CENTRE-01924466666

  8. Hi All A problem has occured with my drivers seat...as I recline the back of the seat twists, and unfortunately, the position the seat is in when the back is straight is very uncomfortable. I have looked at the back of the seat and it looks like it is removable. Does anyone have any experience of this fault, or any sound advice on fixing it? Cheers Stew
  9. Hi all members I would like to change the standard 15inch wheels on my 91LS400. I am thinking of 17inch but I don't really want to go with a very low profile tyre on them so as not to compromise the ride quality. Can anyone advise me on a suitable solution? cheers Stew
  10. I want to replace my wheels and tyres on my 91 LS400. At the moment i have the original 15inch wheels. I would like to put 17inch alloys onthe car but not a really low profile tyre, as I am worried that the ride might become too hard. Can anyone advise me on a suitable combination? thanks Stew
  11. Has anyone got any idea how much it costs to change a cambelt on an LS400? Only I have phoned a couple of lexus service centres and been quoted different prices.
  12. Hi all members, I have recently bought an LS400, it's a 91 with112k and history, an immaculate example. I have two questions I would like to ask ! 1. Ihave a bulb out behind half of my radio display, is this hard to replace? 2.I have heard that you can get a wooden rimmed steering wheel for the LS400, does anyone know if that's true? and where from? cheers stew
