  1. I've checked the dipstick and the filler cap and no signs of water ingress so I hoping that it is not a head gasket issue. When we ran the car up the interior temp guage went up to the middle fairly quickly but the radiator stayed cold and the top hose was easily squashed with no signs of any water travel. I also did this with the expansion bottle top and radiator cap off to see if there was any airlocks. I told this to my local garage and they are suggesting it could be the water pump??
  2. It's not low on coolant. I'll start it up and see how long it takes for the rad to get hot. I'll check the dipstick to see the oil condition. Is it normal for the radiator fan to operate from start up from cold?
  3. Hi, our gs300 has started to show hot on the inerior temp guage and when the bonnet is up is clear to see that the water in the expansion bottle is burbling away. It also seems to take a while for the air through the blower to get hot though?? The fan infront of the radiator comes on initially at startup, is this correct?? I am wondering if it could be the thermostat or temp switch?? Any ideas?? Thanks.
  4. Thanks for all your replies on this, had a bit of a nightmare though! I had some nylon rods and thought to give it a go rodding through the sunroof as we could not see any hose in the boot. After some pushing and pulling the end appeared on the ground near the back wheel, any blockage cleared we thought! I then took out all the carpet lining in the boot to find the plastic tube. Evedently it seemed to have come out from the grommet and filling the car with water instead of draining out. On removing the rods one of them snapped and now still stuck in the car roof somewhere!!! Is it likely that the water will pass through or now fill up and gush in and around the sunroof and flood the roof????
  5. Hi, for some time we have had some more than normal ammounts of condensation in the car and have been wondering why and how this could be. On closer inspection the floor carpets on the driver side and rear passenger drivers side are soaking wet. There is no sign of water leaking from the roof or doors. I am thinking of a hole in the floor pan or if there is a leak from a pipe that runs under the carpet in that direction?? The passenger side front and back is bone dry. Any ideas???

  7. Problem solved! The inline mute switch for the telephone was faulty, now it's been bypassed all working again! Thanks for you time in helping tigerfish.
  8. Would you pm me your number to have a chat, thanks.
  9. I have taken out the multichanger and amp and have been quoted some horrific prices for repair/replacement. I'm in the Hampton Court area in surrey, is there anyone nearby that would let me plug mine into their car or vice versa to see if it is at fault or not? It's any easy 10 minute exercise, Anyone please....?
  10. well I'm struggling! I had a look at the fuses in the engine bay and all looked ok but could not see any that were marked amp or radio or stereo. I had a look in the footwell too and nothing there was marked either. What/where is the dome fuse? There were 2 small unusual fuses in the footwell that I was unsure how to remove, one pink and one blue/green 40amp from memory..
  11. thanks for your help tigerfish, will have a look tomorrow, do hope it is the fuse..
  12. NO!....didn't relise there was an amp fuse! would it be on the amp itself somewhere or in the car somewhere?
  13. Hi all, we've owned a 95 gs300 for about 15 years and had hardly any issues with it until now. The radio/cd player has lost it's sound. The radio/cd player turns on and does all the bits on the facia but there is no sound. If it's turned up to maximum volume then it can be heard faintly. i have the feeling that the amp is gone but wanted to ask if anyone has any other ideas or suggestions? thanks.
