I just had a 220D for a 24 hour test drive, and managed 51mpg (according to the OBC) on the M8 between Glasgow and Edinburgh

best quote from DIG was £580. Told them they were nowhere near, but no luck in getting the price down. Looks like esure or Halifax. Any good/bad stories about either? Daz

when placing the order last week for my IS200, I was offered GAP insurance for £399, and paint protection coating for £299. are these good prices, and are they worth getting? I've never bought or been offered either before Daz

reason i asked mate is i use esure insurance online ,my sport costs 232 quid i`m 34,you may want to get a quote :) Previous best quote was £425 with Halifax, but Esure come in at £405. Have to check if policies are equivalent. Still waiting for DIG to call me back though. Daz

yeah I thought so too. They had a Y reg Sport, exactly the same, but with 16k miles last week. I took it out for a test drive, and was ready to buy it, when the sales blokey says "sorry, we should have told you, but it's going to Lexus auction tomorrow. I can't sell it to you, so you'll have to wait to see if it goes in the auction". Apparently, they had had it up at £17995 because of the low mileage, but it hadn't sold, so they dropped it to £15995, and then decided to put it into the dealer auction about 20 mins before I had called to arrange the test drive. Unfortunately it went to another dealer in the auction, but I spotted the one I ended up buying, and its only 4 months older. Daz

I'm 30. Have been looking at the IS200 for a while, and nearly went for one before i chose the Beemer a couple of years ago. Decided I had to get the Beemer though as I wanted have owned and driven one, and if I left it much longer they would have been too old for me to consider. Daz

Having read through the Gold Forums, it looks like we'll have to go and bash some heads together at the Glasgow and Edinburgh dealers in order to get them to offer a LOC discount!! Daz

got access to Gold now. Great!! Still got an 1997 BMW 323 Coupe. Couldn't bear to part with it. A fantastic car. Any thoughts on the price I'm paying for the IS200? Daz

any idea how long it takes to get access to the Gold Forums? I applied and paid my dues on Friday, but no news yet. Daz
