  1. I was told its 100,000 miles/10 years as well
  2. Either a scooby WRX or STI.....if i cant find a good one then prob be a cheap run about for time being... Oh and the car will be for sale on here in the next 2 days.... sure you dont want an IS300? ;)
  3. i was thinking that aswell. did the had a privte plate sayin 5tav could have, unfortunately cant remember the plate.....
  4. Coming down the M74 just south of Glasgow yesterday, I was trying to keep up with you and coudlnt must have been supercharged!!!! not just talking about speed but acceleration as well, I was in the middle lane and you were behind and shot off ahead on overtaking, no way can a normal IS200 do that between 50-70mph....
  5. WIM price is all-in, and also WIM has checked and adjusted more IS200s and 300s than anyone else so they will have the knowledge to get the best results
  6. Did you have your timing belt changed? Was there anything else which required any attention? My IS300 is due for its 70k service and I am opting for local garage and would like to know anything that needs to be looked at this service. no timing belt is not due until 10 years / 100,000 miles so not needed. nothing else needed doing, the car was ship shape which is pretty good news considering its age! :) toyota/lexus do build a quality motor!
  7. in the end i decided to get the service done up the road from me, less than £300
  8. my lexus is definitely a survivor, drives as good as new! :)
  9. you have great taste in cars, looks fantastic! :)
  10. Finally got my spring appointment at Wheels-In-Motion yesterday morning, demand for the service is very high and I can fully understand why. A couple of things had happened to my car to put the geo out a bit, had a couple of repairs to the suspension and so needed a new Geo doing. What a difference it made! Driving away from the centre in Chesham, I immediately noticed a much more reassuring steering that stayed centred far more positively and the handling is far more precise. Went on a long drive up into the Chilterns and the car was a pleasure to drive again. Cant recommend WIM's services highly enough, thanks Tony
  11. I throw a redex in the tank every few thousand miles, im assuming it does something good to the engine, or nothing at all, and nothing negative. its a fiver a pop so worth a go to help prolong the engine's life??
  12. just hit 45,000 on an 03, got it with just 2,000 miles on the clock in 03
  13. Had mine since June 2003, lovely motor it is. No major problems, mechanically its been spot-on. First set of tyres only lasted 8,000 miles due to using the original "factory" geometry. A trip to STS tyres in Watford in November 2004 led to my IS300 being one of the "guinea pig" cars for the new geometry settings by Wheels in Motion; next set of tyres last best part of 17,000 miles. Had a few niggles with the interior; cigaratte lighter broke and one of the pins on a seat headrest came loose but all were replaced by Lexus with no quibbles. Build quality of the Lexus is incredible in short. :
  14. looked on pro-lex couldnt find one, is there one available somewhere?
  15. Consider getting your geometry done, and if you need them get a full set of 4 good tyres, I did this and it transformed my IS200, I thought the handling was poor at first, now it's pretty good :) get yourself down to wheels in motion in Chesham, they have the right settings for a drastic improvement in handling
  16. well it was bound to come, the dreaded 60k/ 6 year service for the IS300. I have been quoted over £800 by LExus in Hatfield. What I wanted to know is: does it need a new timing belt as well? Im sure the IS200 has a new one on this service but wasnt sure about the 300. also is it worth continuing to dealer service the IS300? after all its not worth that much any more, ive been told a 2003 IS300 sports kit is only worth 7k odd. so is it worth spending a small fortune to get the dealer stamp in the service book??
  17. similar thing happened to me january 4th, i hit some black ice on a corner at slowish speed and spun round twice smashing into the kerb, my IS300 is in the repairers now, over 4 grands worth of damage. three new wheels and tyres, whole rear suspension, subframe, rear bumper, rear abs sensors etc. still havent got the car back yet, looks like its been a realy bad time for IS owners
  18. Just got a new phone and my old nokia car kit doesnt work with it so I want to get a Nokia ck15W kit fitted i wanted to know if it can be wired in so it mutes the car stereo when a call comes in? also can anyone recommend a fitter in the watford area as well? cheers
  19. petrol is back under £1 a litre and the road tax on the IS300 has stayed at 200 odd i thought it was going up to over £400 or something? anyway she doesnt have any second hand value any more so no point in selling, just keep it and enjoy driving a nice solid car
