  1. I'd forgotten quite how magnificent Eva Green is as Artemisia. And how evilly psychotic ...

  2. Judging by how my legs and back are complaining now, I must have hit the stairs much harder than I thought earlier ...

  3. System's down, we can't work but I'm happy cos I just had a massive smile from a Pretty Lady.

  4. may have to watch Temple of Doom soon to listen to "Anything Goes", to erase the memory of the disaster of Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett butchering it on Strictly

  5. Am getting the distinct feeling I wrote a significant part of what I'm reading ... But it's not my document and I can't remember reviewing it. Yet my words and examples are there ...

  6. It's the Yellow Face ! It burns us

  7. Really appreciating the battery booster pack I picked up last week. Cracking idea I nabbed from a good friend with far more common sense than I.

  9. I've had a scary idea for that upcoming 1000th blog post ... I could sing. (need a new mic/headset though)

  10. and as per usual, the new toy connects perfectly to the Macbook but the Windows 7 machine remains ignorant of its presence

  11. That milkshake was so cold at the bottom, I have a frozen brain (as it should be!)

  12. Yep - having the choc mint sundae instead of the starter was - definitely the right choice :-)

  13. And I've just had to resort to the fingerless woolly gloves. Brr

  14. so Acrobat Reader was the culprit for slowing my machine down. I'm confused - I can't remember when I last used it and surely it should have closed itself down fully ?Darn Adobe and their fatally flawed and inexcusably bugged software

  15. As much as the nostalgia appeal applies, I can't help but feel like rewatching the original series of Star Trek is a big let down compared to the scifi we saw in the golden age (Stargate SG-1, Farscape, Firefly)

  16. I hate it when the latent despair starts to kick in. Makes it so much harder to do things.

  17. Pretty lady (waitress) smiles plus good meal = happy Pete again

  18. is feeling the irresistable lure of pizza

  19. Oh noes ! Internet is broken for the computers. If it's not fixed before the end of this recorded Bake Off episode, I may have to ... Read a book or something ...

  20. must be on form today (or particularly wild looking) - even half smiles are getting answering grins

  21. yey - another nice comment for the In The Pink story on the blog.

  22. curious fact - the first red shirt to die on Star Trek was wearing ... a blue shirt. Yep - it feels very weird but I just started rewatching the original series, right from the beginning ...

  23. I appear to be consistently on the last, tightest, hole in my belt. I may need to shop before public indecency charges ensue.

  24. This is what I've been finding of the various modes : Eco + Normal - both suffer from a bit of motor/engine lag where you press the throttle and it takes a moment to figure out that you want to Go Fast. That hesitation isn't there in Sport. Eco - I use this in town, it tames the car down somewhat. It helps me avoid kangaroo hopping my way to a stop at lights Normal - is just fine for motorway cruising but there's that lack of instantaneous response when you're on a fun, undulating road. Sport - cuts out that engine/motor lag. Sport is fun. It's much less of an effect than in the CT. We have 650V available to the motor full time, in the CT it's something that Sport does (and full throttle in Normal/Eco). I don't think the IS needs the firming up of the steering that happens in CT Sport mode.
  25. Yey - have been described as looking like a different person by a Pretty Lady visitor today. May have to try to arrest the weight loss before I fade away.
