I have a 5 yr old IS220d low mileage(50k). Clutch has developed a squeak when the pedal is pressed down. It started doing it just when it was cold but has now started doing it when warm too. It sounds like a squeaky spring. Any ideas what's causing it? Hoping for a cheap easy fix otherwise the car's going - fed up of expensive problems with it! Many thanks Got the cheap fix ... a can of WD40 did the job! Squeak has gone & clutch feels lighter.... so the car gets to stay for now!

I have a 5 year old Lexus 220d. It's low mileage (50k). It's developed a squeak/creak noise on the clutch when the pedal in pressed down. It was originally doing it when it was cold, it's now doing it warm too. It sounds like a creaky spring. Any ideas on what is causing it? If it's a big job the car's going - I've had enough of expensive problems with this car!
