  1. If you prefer diesel and manual gear box, its one of the best cars on its class. There have been some head gasket and piston ring issues, but actually its not so common. Mostly fixed with warranty. I know a lot of people who are very happy with this car, but those few who are not, seem to make too much noise.
  2. I talked to lexus dealer today about that is220 head gasket problem. He told me that is250 v6 gaskets are more common to fail than 220 diesel ones. In my country is220 head gasket failures are very very rare, so I really dont see why some of the UK spec engines are so bad. Full replace with labour is 280.-(3-4 hours) euros at my dealer, if the car is out of warranty. This is not so expensive, I cant belive you whine and slander is220 engine so badly over such a minor failure. The waterpump was like 240.- eur to replace.
  3. It was ment monstly in city driving. The is250 average is about 22-28 mpg. Your must have some secret hybrid engine to do 40 mpg on it.
  4. The point is that lot of european people like diesels, and is220 is more economical than the 250. Yes, its not the worlds best diesel, but it does its job well. I can cover about 700+ km in full tank in my 220, with 250 you will be able to cover only half of that. In one year you can save a lot of money. And is220 IS QUIET. It runs very smoothly and quiet. I dont know if its luck on just well serviced car, but i havent had any major issues. I will never go back to bmw, audi or a merc. If you are a diesel hater then there is nothing to talk about it anymore.
  5. I have the same color car and i'v been wanting to refurb my wheels dark gray, because I have some flaking on front wheels. Now I see that OEM silver fits a lot better, this gray is too dark, or wheels are too small for dark color scheme. But refurb is very nicely done.
  6. Yes, its not the most economical, but it works fine and has a good torque. I also tried is250, it could have more power from that thirsty engine. Is220d seemed better, although usually I prefer petrol engines. Before that I had a petrol powered Mercedes, and Lexus is WAY more sheaper to run. I dont even remember when and where I last refueled it. Im happy.
  7. I had the same problem, tought that the ballast was bad. Also tried with a new xenon bulbs, but still right side didnt work as it should. But when I changed both xenon-headlight fuses problem was solved. With an eye the fuse seemed perfectly fine, but I decided to change it anyway..and like magic the headlight turned on right away. 3 months later still works fine. So its worth to try, it can be simple as that. Allan
