  1. That's brilliant mate. I'll do that. Simple enough really. Thanks for your help. I'm sure others will find this useful in time to come. :) Will.
  2. Fantastic. Would you be good enough to take a picture of it when you get chance and post it here please? I'd like to see how you've done it so I can get my motor back on the road. I've got another car so there's no rush at all mate. It would also be of great help to others because I'm sure (with these cars now being 15 years old or so) that radiator issues will start to surface soon. Mine has done well lasting 15 years to be honest! Only if you get time. Many thanks Will.
  3. Hiya mate. Did you ever manage to get a radiator for your GS430? I have a crack in the plastic header of mine and I have tried to get one for months. I bit the bullet and got one from the US (very cheap) but when it arrived unfortunately it was identical in every way except for one small outlet was missing. The one that goes from the expansion tank to the radiator which connects with an L-shaped pipe. When I checked the US version of GS430 it seems that they have a different expansion tank to our UK counterparts. I was considering trying to tap into the header using some sort of nozzle but it would have to be able to take the high pressure and I'm not certain how to do that. Any joy yet? Cheers, Will.
  4. Hi mate, yea those front anti roll bar bushes are just shy of £25 each from lexus liverpool. Whilst on the car the old ones may look tight but when you get them off and line em up with the new ones you'll prolly see that the bore of the old ones are slightly bigger (due to wear). Worth a shot i guess, but £50 is a bit of a rip off when you compare the amount of rubber you get to say, i don't know, a tyre for instance! Make sure your inner and outer track rods are all tight too mate. Good luck ;) Will.
  5. Hi mate, you prolly wanna concentrate on front suspension. Listen carefully for knocks, clunks and squeaking noises. The No2 control arm bushes seem to be a weak point, quite expensive to fix if you go the dealer route. Other than that, lower balljoints, front sway bar bushes are the things to look out for (not a big deal to fix and can be used to bargain down the price of a potential purchase). Also, listen very carefully when braking at low speeds for a clicking/knocking type noise (especially when turning and about to come to a stop - 3 point turn etc). All that this tends to be is the brake caliper guide pins need cleaning and regreasing, but once again can be used to get the price down :) Good luck mate. Will.
  6. Hi guys, I think it's also worth checking for play in the steering rack mounting bushes. 2 people are best for this as 1 can rock the wheel and the other can check to see if the rack moves under the car, before the wheels start to move. Cheers, Will.
  7. Hi Scooper, I'm also looking for a more robust fix for these bushes. It seems this arm has many names: Front lower control arm (No 2), Castor Rod, trailing arm, strut rod etc. Anyway, I'm still looking so let me know if you find the correct ones, and in the meantime here is a nice walkthrough for you to get your teeth into :) http://www.clublexus.com/forums/suspension-and-brakes/490123-diy-daizen-caster-arm-bushing-installation-lots-of-pics.html Will.
