  1. Please keep me informed regarding this unit. I really want one of thes for my IS250, but was put of by the previous thread and problems they encountered.
  2. Both my mirrors are also now kaput. Damned annoying that a luxury marque would have so many faults across their range. My wifes 07 BMW is still perfect.
  3. If the level of washer fluid is below a certain level then the windshield washers get priority. I read this somewhere in the owners manual.
  4. Had the new pads installed today and also had the the slider pins lubed whilst they were at it. Definite improvement in the brake pedal feel. I guess genuine Toyota pads are the way to go with this model.
  5. Ordered from Lexus Sheffield today.
  6. I'm aware of the brake bias and just feel that seeing as i need to change the pads, i may as well upgrade. I am leaning towards Toyota pads at the moment.
  7. Hi folks, i need some suggestions for new rear pads for my IS250. I do mainly city driving with the occasional high speed run from London to Oxford. I find the brakes on the IS250 pretty poor, and need something with some real bite.Currently using Blueprint pads, but poor pedal feel. By contrast, my wifes BMW 325i would stop on a 50p piece. I await your opinions. Thanks in advance.
  8. Let me know how it goes and post lots of pictures. I really want one for my IS250.
  9. Funnily enough, i also went from a CL9 Accord to a Lexus almost 3 years ago now. I still miss the raw speed of the the Honda, but the IS250 is such a nice place to sit. I actually find it exciting on a fast motorway run, as it handles so well at speed. Please let us know what are the symptoms regarding the satnav. We may be able to help. Welcome to the club.
  10. Wait until you find one with Mark Levinson system. Absolutely fabulous set up, and by far the best factory system I have had in years.
  11. I'm also interested in this product for my IS250. I don't see any reason why it should'nt work in the UK
  12. Probably just the injectors .This engine is not exactly quiet at idle.
  13. I'd be tempted to go with a 2012 onwards disc if you can find one. It will definitely let you input whilst on the move and be more current regarding the roads. A lot has changed since 2009.
  14. Not sure about the GS models but on my IS250 I had to update the satnav disc to a newer version. I believe after 2009 it is possible to input destinations whilst on the move. The newer disc have the firmware installed which allows you to use this function.
  15. Everyone is trying to save a few pennies.I bought a genuine disc but the copies do work on some other brands.I had a 2010 copy in my Honda Accord and it worked perfectly well. The ebay add seems quite plausable and in most cases it will do the intended job; just not in a Lexus !
  16. The backup discs from the other internet sites will not let you input destinations whilst on the move. I emailed the seller to enquire about this and ended up buying a genuine disc on ebay. Anything after 2009 will have the required firmware for on the move inputs. Copies are a false econony my friend.
  17. The headlight issue is the bulb, not the ballast. It's a common fault. Buy a new set off ebay and look at the the youtube tutorial on how to disassembe everything to fit them. It's a fiddly but easy job. Done mine recently. The mirror fault is also a known quantity. Apparently the motors for adjusting the glass use plastic ring gear which get jammed. Both of mine are jammed, so I'm waiting for better weather before I open them up and have a go at fixing them. Once again, there is a youtube video on this subject. Are you sure you don't already HID''s ? If it has headlamp washers, then you already had HID's. Well done for figuring out the key issue! Lovely car; same spec as mine I think.
  18. My IS is definitely noisier( injectors) than my wifes 325i but the BMW feels heavier and the IS accelerates quicker. Did London to Leicester and back today but only acheived 28.7 mpg. Really caned it on the way back though.....
  19. I think what the original poster meant is that the windows tend to steam up without the AC function on. I have the same problem with my car.
  20. I did London to Birmingham and back via Bicester yesterday and averaged about 36mpg. Not bad considering I had all the accesories going plus I hit 80 mph a few times. I still would prefer a straight 6 rather than a V6 though. My wifes BMW 325i has a beautiful engine.
  21. Lexus Twickenham have quoted me £700 for the 60k service, whilst Lexus Woodford have quoted me £246 for an intermediate service as the spark plugs and transmission oil are only 2 years old. I may take it to my trusted local garage and let him do the intermediate plus all the filters and differential oil.
  22. I've had the car two years now. Bought it with 38k on the clock. I had to change the propshaft seal on the gearbox end, and had new transmission fliud put in then.I had the plugs changed about 18 months ago as I was able to purchase them cheaply from the U.S. (£80). I'm more concerned about the differential oil and the transmission filter and oil change.
  23. My 55 plate IS250 is due for its 60k major service soon. Should I let Lexus carry out the work, or should I take it to my local garage. I just want to make sure all the specific jobs are done as per the owners manual.
