I have just installed a new pair of H.I.D. bulbs in my my IS250 as the drivers side bulb kept going out on a regualar basis. Now that I have put in new bulbs, the passenger side lamp is going out, and the drivers side is okay!.Any ideas folks before I start dismantling things again.

The BMW straight six engine is so smooth and my wifes 325i handles like its on rails. My IS250 is quicker from a standing start but the BMW is very refined.

A 2009 onwards SEL model should have all the features you are looking for, except maybe the sunroof, which seems like a rare option. The ipod connectivity is something I don't know about. My 2006 SEL model has all the other options you are looking for.Good luck with your search.

I have just bought my wife a BMW 325i and i am so impressed with it, that i may swap my IS250 for a 330i. The BMW build quality and intetior plastics are so much better than Lexus. Never thought i would look at a BMW , but at least it's not an Audi.

I need two front shocks. The nearside one is weeping.

The car has only done 51k. There are lots of speed bumps in London, starting with the one outside my driveway !

Can someone recommend a decent pair of shock absorbers for my IS250. There does not appear to be a great deal of choice. Also i have a spongy brake pedal. I have had pads put on recently plus i asked for the brakes to be bled but still too spongy. Any ideas?

Unfortunately my luggage space is already spoken for. I guess the yanks really are not silly. Lexus have got so many models over here. My personal favourite is the IS350.

Hi folks I'm currently vacationing in Dallas Texas.My family live in an affluent area named Frisco. Whilst here I have been conducting my own little survey about what people are driving here.Besides the usual Cadillac 4x4 the most popular marques seem to be Mercedes and Lexus. In fact I have never seen so many in one place. In this area houses start at £500k, so you know they are not short of a few pennies. I think that this testament to the overall quality of the Marque and I still do quite understand why Lexus does not have a better foothold in the UK market share. I must admit; the Mercedes C300 sport I was in yesterday was fabulous. Smooth, quiet and very rapid.

I had a similar fault with my IS250. There is a rubber seal on gearbox end of the propshaft. It seems to be a common problem, but an easy fix.

I actually considered gloss black but gunmetal grey sounds good.

My 2006 IS250 has the usual Lexus problem with wheel corrosion, so I think it's time for a refurb. I have found a place in Birmingham that do powder coating. My car] colour is Argento Ice( silver). What other wheel colour besides silver might suit my car?

I've got the same problem with mine. When it rains heavily my drivers side bulb goes off. As soon as conditions improve its fine. I iniatilly thought it was the bulb, but my mechanic reckons its the ballast. Any thoughts anyone ?

There is an aftermarket unit available from a company called Fly Audio. Its pricey though.

I have a problem with one of my HID bulbs. It seems to go off in heavy rain. Is this a bulb or ballast fault. It seems to work perfectly at other times.

You must be a very new owner.There is no ignition switch. The key part of the fob is for emergency entry to the car is case the fob battery goes flat. Read the owners manual.

It's actually quite normal. The noise you are hearing is the wheel sliding whilst trying to grip on full lock. Remember the the wheel is not perpendicular to the ground at full lock, so the tyre is being pushed forward at an angle.

I paid £9k for my 55 plate SE-L a year ago. I bought it from an independent dealer and it had 36k on the clock and full Lexus history. The only options that I think my car doesn't have are a sunroof and 18" alloys. I have seen some under £8k with most of the SE-L options. Check ebay.

Strange as it may sound, I can recommend Kumho. I had read a few good reviews when I was a member of the Honda Accord forum. I now have a set on the front of my IS250. A excellent tyre with low road noise, and good grip in the wet. I used Avon's. before, and the Kumho's are better. I also buy my tyres at Blackcircles.com

Can anyone tell me what year did Lexus start adding firmware to the satnav disc which enaabled the destination to be input whilst on the move? I'm interested in buying a used disc, but obviously want the added functionality. I am still running the original 2006 disc but don't really want to spend £139 for a 2012 disc. Just want a older disc with the firmware installed.

This morning when starting my IS250, the whole car started to shake at idle. It felt like the engine was starved of fuel. After a couple blips of the throttle it returned to its normal self. Any ideas what could have caused this shudder? It ran fine for the rest of the day, but I will be watching out for anything unusual tonorrow.
