  1. Some kind person managed to reverse into my rs200 and smash the rear light lens.... :tsktsk: If you have one and want to sell it please email me at katie.hughes@uk.fujitsu.com Thanks
  2. Hi guys I have an Rs200 Tip. and the heater matrix has gone pop! Toyota have messed me about with ordering the part - and now they say it's on back order.... Does anyone here have a new/used heater matrix I could buy? Or can you advise if the heater matrix is the same as the Lexus IS200?? Thanks
  3. I have an Auto RS200 and I love it.... I like the fact you can be lazy in traffic and then blast it with the buttons on the steering wheel when needed. I have driven both manual and auto .... if it's performance you are after go for the manual.... I prefer the auto... but I also drive an auto 300zx so i'm used to it!!! Try both and then decide?? Hope that helps
  4. Ummm - I'm confused now (yes I know that aint difficult) - do I need an SVA on a 1990 MR2? I was sure it was just MOT?
  5. An MR2 T-Bar GT .. nothing special just really low mileage - 32,000 miles on a 1990 - so the Tez won't be too jelous - I dont remember seeing this info when I brought my other Mr2 in. I am slightly worried about these notes on the DVLA though as I cannot prove I have been in Japan. . Type Approval Non-type approved vehicles less than 10 years old that are personally imported are required to pass a Single Vehicle Approval (SVA) test. To qualify as a Personal Import [PI], the following conditions have to be met. · If the vehicle has been imported by a person entering the United Kingdom; · That the person had, at the time the vehicle was imported, been normally resident in a country other than the United Kingdom for a continuous period of at least 12 months; · That person intends to become normally resident in the United Kingdom; · That the vehicle has been in the possession of that person and used by him in the country where he has normally resident for a period of at least 6 months before its importation and · That the vehicle is intended for his personal or household use in the United Kingdom. Personally imported vehicles over 3 years old, that meet the above criteria, will be subject to the MOT test. The Vehicle Operator Services Agency will need to be satisfied that the person importing the vehicle complies with the above criteria. NB. P.I. status does not apply to HGVs over 3,500kgs.
  6. I have a new import coming over from Japan and is due to land in late January. I have imported cars a few years ago, but am worried if anything has changed. The car is over 10 years so I don't need to worry about SVA etc..... Is there anything I have missed? Thanks
  7. Hi, I'll post some pictures at the weekend. looking for £8500 for it. thanks James
  8. My Altezza may be up for sale shortly. It's an E-shift Auto RS200 in Graphite. It has aftermarket Team Dynamic alloys and a Apex-i induction kit with cold airbox. It is a 1998 model in pristine condition with 28,000 miles recorded. All documentation, including english manual is included. Timing belt changed approx 7000 miles ago. I am selling to fund the purchase of a Lexus RX300 and a Honda NSX in the next couple of months. My MR2 Turbo is also up for sale if anyone is interested!! :winky:
  9. I've driven 2 Tips now and both would not allow you to select 2nd via E-shift until warm ....
  10. Who is up for it then? Not sure whether to go in my MR2 turbo or the Altezza RS200? Any thoughts?
  11. The difference in the octane rating might require an ECU remap....but you could try using octane booster first before going down this route. I think you have some kind of boost or ignition problem....does the boost gauge drop off under hard accel? If so any rattles from the engine at this point? Sorry for the questions...but I want to help as i know how difficult it is to get help when you have rare cars. PS. Check the plugs...could be that simple
  12. Having owned several Turbo cars including N/A to Turbo conversions, I would say check the Ignition right through including leads/dizzy. To fully diagnose the problem can you give a more in-depth explanation..... Lambda sensor or ECU mapping/fuel/air intake sound likely but: Is it worse when cold/hot? Does it happen under full/light load? Is the idle rough/ok? Is the boost gauge reading ok? Are pressure hoses connected? What is the status of the Spark Plugs? Has the cat been removed? Any mods? Sorry to ask so many questions but it might help... I have an MR2 Turbo (modified) and I have had several different boost problems which I have managed to resolve.
  13. Has anyone fitted a Apexi Super AFC II on an Rs200 themselves and if so how did it go? Any tips for me? I have the Power Intake from Apexi and the Alluminium Intake box. With the instructions I get recommended settings for the AFC, I'm just concerned about the actual fitting of the device. Thanks James
  14. Thanks...That was the first thing I checked.....all looks fine.... I did the standard stuff like checking manifold wasnt loose and heatshield etc... All as tight as can be. Definately a more serious problem than just a loose object. If I put the car into neutral and rev the engine the noise doesnt happen.....only when I accelerate in gear I've only got 35,000 miles on the clock so I'm sure it aint gearbox.....I just hope its the CAT. Thanks
  15. Can anyone lend an opinion on this? I have a 98 Altezza RS200 Tip. Under acceleration there is a loud ticking noise almost a rattle.....sounds low down almost under the middle of the car. I have a feeling the CAT is knackered.....but would like some confirmation before I order a new one. I can be emailed at james.hughes2@lloydstsb.co.uk Thankyou in advance
