  1. Happy Birthday Ghosty!

  2. seems the dealer has no relisted her on ebay as a different user and added some lies to the advert like new tyres last week, my baby had new tires back in feb but seriously someone must want this beauty. o and the part about 2 scuffs due to the wife they were already there when i brought the car last year http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2001-LEXUS-GS430-SE-AUTO-Navigator-52k-miles-immaculate-FSH-leather-etc-/300838388240?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item460b5d8210 like said before anyone want any information on her just send a message i should have kept it as a second car
  3. luckly my x350 doesnt have any signs of corrosion only the door crome trims have oxidized but with some autosol they have come up new. I am with you jaguars are a lot more work and break for silly reasons my first s type i spent over a grand sorting out bad door locks. But when a jaguar runs right nothing else is like it as they say on top gear you cant be a petrol head till you own an alfa i get that feeling for jaguars. well if you know anyone after a 430 she is in cracking nick few small stone chips but in terms of mechanically she is a dream only problem i had was alloys had corrosion so i brought some used ones with help from a fellow forum member. I would like to say if anyone buys my GS and wants a spare set of alloys in need of refurb they can have them for free. as long as they pick them up
  4. hi all thank you for all the help over this last year of ownership but i decided i needed a Jag again so traded my baby in for a XJ 4.2 the aluminum one what a car. Just thought i would post a goodbye statement before i close my account and i thought that i should post the link that the car garage have my car on. The car was well looked after i have spent almost 2k in this last year having everything done new brakes, tires, new balljoints, upreated steering and anti roll bar bushes, new stainless exhaust made buy MIJ. i cant list it all but this car has been loved so much and i thought it was a shame that the car was is 51k miles and someone might let that car sit at their garage for a few months not knowing what it is. so yeh if anyone wants to go after a low milage golden beauty then have a look traded the car in at droitwich. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lexus-GS-430-4-3-Lexus-Navigator-auto-SE-51K-FSH-MASSIVE-SPEC-FULLY-LOADED-/321030456579?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item4abee80503 If anyone does have a look and possibly buy her you can contact me and will talk you through how she is little niggles or whatever you find. It is a shame that i got the car in poor repair spent a bomb but the Jag bug hit me and i needed that fix i love to tinker and you cant on a toyota/ lexus you ahve wear and tare but for the most part there are resistant to wifes and bombs. ooo ps i know that these forums are moderated and i would like to say i am not selling the car just letting people know about it going so she can go to a good home
  5. can give you the ebay link sorry if that breaks any forum rules or anything not sure how else to post the pictures. are nice wheels only a few marks wouldnt say they need full refurb just one those kits you can buy on ebay or someone that knows what they are doing. only thing i didnt realise was how expensive postage was for alloy wheels so have put courier i found one there but thought its best as they finish thursday and i am off just to deliver in the wifes car due to that lovely 60MPG compared to my 16MPG on the 430. got to love wifes sometimes well i brought her the car so i dont know if that counts, see i was looking ahead for moments like these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/170911191282?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
  6. finally got my 18 gs alloys today. I was wrong were not off 2006 car was off a 2009 GS so even better look lush. But due to my want to upgrade my calipers to 4 pot supra brakes have decided to relist on back on ebay and put money towards new brakes as wife says i cant have both. Fitted my Gs like a dream look so much better than the GS sport wheels for our gen 2 cars.
  7. go with the service kit in my opinion honestly easy to do can do calipers in no time after years of practise. or hold on a month as i am going to be getting rid of my calipers as looking for the supra turbo calipers to replace them.
  8. Have a look at the US site there is a guide on there looks simple just the parts that add up. Nav is nice to have but sometimes lacking the post code can be a pain . But having a 2001 car with touch screen sat nav and computer ect is nice considering other makes didn't have this for a while
  9. Maybe should look into a replacement high flow cat. My car exhaust was blowing and replaced for stainless exhiast for 550 when Lexus wanted 1800 just for parts. So maybe aftermarket high flow car may come in cheaper although Lexus dealer would say no to any non Toyota part. Or cheaper still breakers yard or eBay failing that order parts from the US save a tone over UK prices.
  10. Sure you can also hold I think the auto setting and it will bring a hidden menu on sat nav cars to adjust the sensitivity of the smog sensor
  11. Have a 2001 gs 430 with 50k mile avg 17 town 30ish motorway and goes like a bar out of help due to my obsession with changing fluids and stainless exhaust looking for a new home possibly. Looking for another jaguar or a gs 460
  12. hi guys done it again made mistake of late night ebaying putting in bids that i know i will most likely loose. yeh and i accidently won a set of gs alloys off a gs 300 gen 3 (06+). I have a 2001 gs 430 with the 17 oem alloys on at the moment that i kindy found thanks to other lexus owner to replace my set that are in need of major refurb. so basically i am stuck in limbo with 9 17 inch oem alloys from gen 2 lexus and 4 gen 3 18 inch wheels. They are the 18 inch alloys i think of the awd se model 8jx8 will they fit the gs without any problems as the sport gs came with 18 inch wheels i am hoping they will fit. also does anyone know the size of tyre the 18 inch alloy takes for an 06 gs. so yeh this is a request for information on will they fit and should i keep my old alloys with new tyres or use these new 18 inch 06 wheels and have to buy new tyres for around 400 when already spent that last year. i think that maybe my wife should stop me going on ebay, on the plus side on ebay picked up rear brake fitting kit for around 10 pounds from us when they are 70+ from lexus direct so handy shopping around
  13. thanks no luck there are a set on ebay from japan but the shipping is £80 but that doesnt include fee extra and takes weeks if i want tracking it will be another £80 i think as all prices in US. May see if i can get a hold of the bracket i need and then do the LS400 brake conversion as they as cheap and easy to get hold of the calipers
  14. hay guys after 2 front supra twin turbo 4 pot callipers for a gs 430 brake upgrade. was considering the ls 400 brakes but due to need of trying to locate the bracket/spacer needed in the uk(readily available in the US). So if anyone knows anyone send a message
