  1. OK when I get my parts I'll try it without removing the rear seat, cheers
  2. Hi Raymond I have a similar problem, the brackets that bolt to the underside of the parcel shelf aren't that strong. If you look at Jomo's photos you'll see that the bracket has a crack just above his wrench. that's how mine was until last Friday when it broke completely and as the boot lid is heavy it wont stay up. I've ordered two replacement brackets from scrapyard, and Steve posted a diagram of how to get the rear seat out. I'll let you know how I get on.
  3. I suppose it looks better when your sat in it, but it would have to have dark tints in case anyone recognised me
  4. Cheers Steve, I'll give it a go. diagrams are helpful too. thanks again
  5. Hi All, I have an IS200 SE (2005) Both the boot lid hinge mounting brackets which bolt to the underside of the parcel shelf need replacing. One has broken the other is cracked. Has any one done this before, it looks like I need to remove the rear seat and parcel shelf. but where do I start removing the rear seat?
  6. Hi All, I have an IS200SE (05) according to my service book the timimg belt should be replaced at 100000m, but I've been advise to ignore this and change it at 60000m. and also the tensioner and water pump are common problems and should be checked too. I've contacted an inde[endent Lexus garage and he didn't seem too sure either. Any one else had issues with these parts?

  10. Hi all, new member 'Twang' here. I have an IS200 SE (05). and somehow I lost my o/s plastic roof trim. my dealer assures me they dont easily come off so I'm assuming some ones swiped it. Rather than paying £150.00 to have my dealer replace it, I bought one from a dismantler (£15)has anyone any idea how tofit it? it looks like I need some sort of mastic to glue it on? . . . .help
