  1. Not heard of any GS or LS wheel problems, but I'd imagine they are the same. I'm on my 3rd Lexus (2 IS's and now an RX) and I'm on my 4th set of wheels I agree with Mr Morse the refurbs are much better
  2. It takes about an hour, make sure you check out the pricing. When I checked they varied from £120 to £220 for my 1st RX service depending on the dealer. My local dealer has outrageous services prices so I always shop around.
  3. Personally I get them replaced as soon as the corrosion appears, the way I look at it they may be more inclined to deal with this issue if it becomes a real big headache for them. Corrosion on a £35k car after a few months is not acceptable whatever the weather As you may have gathered I have suffered this many, many, many times
  4. Thanks for the replies, might try a bit of WD40 tonight and see if it makes any difference. Obviously there must be a way to make it quite because the dealer did something to it last time.
  5. Hi, I've got an 04 RX300SE and the sliding rear load cover is driving me insane with the sound of near constant squeaking, so either I've got a family of mice living in it or somethings wrong with it. When the car last went back for some noise issues (roof lining) I complained about the cover then and when I got the car back the noise had gone, but it has returned with a vengance. Anyone else had similar problems and know how to solve it, I'd rather not have to take the car back again Regards
  6. I'd heard that Mazda had a similar problem, a guy at work is on his second set for an RX8 Never had the problem on any of my BMW's though
  7. Recent had our RX300SE's changed, car was 7 months old. This is our 3rd Lexus (2 IS200's before) and every one has had to have the wheels replaced at least once. I'm pretty sick of it to be honest especially as they now insist (at least Hadleigh do) on inspecting the car first before ordering the replacements and they only replace the wheels which show corrossion which means you can have 3 replaced and then the 4th can go the next week ?!?! This time round I wrote to Lexus to explain my annoyance and was sent a bog standard reply stating they were aware of the issue and where looking in to it as it is specific to the UK - Looking into it for 4 years???? We was told by somebody at our dealers that in some cases customers are being told to leave it until it gets really bad and then have them replaced. LEAVE IT on a car that costs £35k !!! The last lot of wheels we had on our last IS where finished in the UK and they where perfect and lasted, I've had alloys on all my our cars and never had this problem I think it's time for them to take theier head out of the sand and do something about it. Sorry for the rant but I'm a bit fed up with this problem, I love the cars I can't believe they let themselves down like this
  8. Hi Fergus, IMHO you certainly won't regret going with the Lexus. You might want to consider the boot liner, especially if you've got young kids, muddy pram wheels and bikes do not make for a clean boot :D Regards
  9. Have you put the new wheels on Any Pics ← I was just about to ask the same :)
  10. The point is exactly that, personal taste. I personally think that 20" rims suit the the car better especially as (in my opinion) the standard wheels are a bit bland. Sure you may compromise the comfort or noise a bit but in my previous experience of changing wheel/tyre sizes providing you go for the right setup and tyres the difference is generally negligible. Totally see you point about the possible damage but to be honest as I have other cars with larger rims I tend to be cautious with parking anyway :D
  11. Thanks, do you mind if I ask how much you paid and where you got them from? Look forward to seeing the pics :)
  12. Has anyone put 20" Alloys on a RX300, I seem to recall that someone here was either considering or had had them fitted. Just seems that theres not a great selection out there (only found 2). Does anyone know a decent source preferably with pictures? Not looking for anything overly bling I think the RX is great but those wheels are just too boring Cheers
  13. Hi Damian, Mine did exactly the same, the dealer did a tyre rotation and rechecked the pressures which stopped it. Regards
