  1. Who fitted the tuner?????? Was it done in the UK and any idea of cost? I REALLY want to play my iPod through the system and don't want to try and 'do it myself' as I KNOW I will break something. If this allows me to connect an MP3 player it might be worthe the upgrade. Of course a tuner would be cool anyway. :o) Robin
  2. Hi I bought my 2002 SC430 used with the old suspension and a gauruntee from the Lexus garage they would upgrade for free if I wanted them too (Lexus actually paid for it). I had test driven a new model and liked the ride, after a week I said I did want the upgrade. I found the run flat/suspension just too damn hard. They upgraded the suspension fitted new non run flat tyres and it transformed the car for me. Personally I would nt but an SC430 without the conversion. Robin
  3. Hi Steve No, just the £420 plus VAT price from my local Lexus dealer....... Robin
  4. Chased yesterday. I am afraid no news yet.
  5. Just got this email from a guy in the USA if anyone is interested. >hi, >i got 'em at Custom Wheel Serv. 3158 E. La Palma Ave, Anaheim, CA 92806 >Paul W. 714-632-6700 is the contact person. Tell him James Rho/SC430 referred you and he will >know. I already told him he'll be getting a lot of calls/business.... i> got 'em for $163. US dollars. He also sent me a couple of pictures but I don't know where or how to upload them here. Robin
  6. So where did you get them from?????????? I noticed on another Lexus message board that someone had got a set of 4 for $160!!!!!!!!!! I am trying to get a telephone number to maybe get a set over for me????? Robin
  7. Found out today there is a specialist company in the UK working on a solution for the MP3 player to be wired in directly. They do these looms for BMW and Mercedes also allowing direct connection of TV and DVD to inbuilt SAtNav screens and they are currently targeting Lexus next. Am waiting to hear more. Robin
  8. Core Blimey........ My dealer came back to me today regarding the DVD upgrade. JUST £402 PLUS VAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! May just have to stick with the old version. Robin
  9. Javadude, Your surposed to put a switch in the power supply to the modulator, otherwise your radio won't tune correctly ie: the same problems your having.... The "Hiss" your getting can be overcome by fitting a "Ground Loop Isolator" in the phono leads to the modulator. I'm currently running an FM modulator and it's crystal clear on TV, DVD and Video.... ROBIN, You can buy a 3.5 jack to RCA converter from Maplins for a couple of quid, and also a FM modulator for about £45. I fitted one on a RX300 last week, and it worked perfectly. You make it sound so easy and I don't have a clue where to start........... I wonder if my dealer would know? Robin
  10. Ahh I see its not quite what I thought was being suggested. But the hiss is not something I want, I can get that with the audio tape adapter. Robin
  11. THis sounds exactly what I want. I assume if it works on the is200 it ought to work on the SC430? Robin
  12. Hi Another question. I have an Apple iPod (MP3 Player) with standard 3.5 inch jack output. I would LOVE to be able to play this through my SC430's music system. Options so far are an RF modulater, illegal in UK. A cassette adapter, very poor quality sound. Or some kind of aux or line-in into the system. You CAN add a minidisc player so I am guessing that somewhere the is an line in but have no idea where or how to do this. Any ideas out there or dealers in the UK that could help? Robin PS On my old car I replaced the Radio/CD with one that had an Aux input on front, not an option on the SC430.
  13. Hi As a new member I have a couple of questions which I hope have not been asked before. I have seen comment in these forums on a new SatNav DVD but no info on the best place to get them from or cost? My new SC430 (well used really) has a 2001 DVD and I would like a 2003 if available or a 2002 at worst. Also on this or another Lexus forum I saw information on a remote engine start adation for the standard remote, I would LOVE this for the winter but was wondering if it was available in the UK? Regards. Robin
