  1. Yeah that was my thoughts. They have only said that it’s the front that need sorting.
  2. I am pretty sure the last one I had on my GS was full camber, caster and toe. I don’t believe there is any adjustment on the rear of the GS. Kwik Fit did say that was £65 for just the alignment and it’s just the front that was a bit out. There is a place across town that does proper 4 wheel alignment but I am a bit apprehensive as I took my 200SX there a few years back and a lad snapped the head off one of the main Camber adjustment bolts by tightening not Loosening it. Is there any rear adjustment on the IS300h F-Sport?
  3. Thanks. Bit out of my price range tho and not found the wind to be much of a problem on the IS300h but was terrible at times on the GS450h! It made a buffeting noise at speed that really made my ears hurt. They do look good but it’s a pity there isn’t a good aftermarket set for reasonable price.
  4. I quite like that, it’s nice and subtle and breaks up the vast white. How much was it and do you have a link? I also think it would look good with a small rear upper spoiler. Something else I have been meaning to look into is getting back vinyl fitted on the roof and the rears tinted out. Might get some photos done at work and get the photoshop guys to give me a preview.
  5. How much was your or set? The ones I can see are over 400 quid.
  6. I managed to get a cracking deal on a full set of Bridgestone Turanza 6 fitted balanced eTc for £492 all in at Kwik Fit of all places ( they had a 10% discount if I had 2 or more tyres but the code took 10% off the tyres but then another 10% off the total with the balancing, disposal of old tyres and tps seals eTc)they said the front needed a alignment but I am not going to pay them 65 quid when I can get it done elsewhere for 35. on the short drive home they seem better and a little less harsh but has mad a big difference in how light the car feels to drive. I will update on the feel of the tyres once I have driven to work and back a few days. Unfortunately one thing tyres won’t really help with is the shocking state of the roads.
  7. Are there any that you can recommend? say 4-500 quid budget? One thing that i am always weary of is, will it integrate correctly if you have the ML audio system?
  8. Agreed.. Yeah i understand why they dont, more than most, as i have fallen foul of it! But with my IS i have the wing mirrors set to fold in when the car is all locked up so when i look at my car on CCTV i can see that its all closed up from a glance.
  9. After a bit of digging on this forum it looks like i have found the answer. Looks like it has to be enabled in Techstream or the like. I am having brakes fitted this weekend at Lex-Tech so will ask Dave if he can enable it. If not i do have a copy of Techstream and the cable to do it myself, i just have to install a 32bit copy of windows 7 on my old laptop.
  10. Hi Everyone, Does the IS300h F-Sport have the feature that i can unlock/lock all windows with the fob? On my GS when i pressed and held the unlock button for a few seconds it beeped then all the windows wound down and then if i pressed and held the lock button all the windows would close. It was a great* feature in summer when its nice and hot, i can wind down my windows before going to my car to let some of the heat buildup escape. Is it something that needs to be enabled like the auto door locking when the car is put into gear? *i wont mention when i accidentally had the keys in my pocket and it hammered it down overnight and i had to remove the rear seat and use a load of those moisture traps to get rid of the water... 😯
  11. Damn... I was looking at getting a set of those fitted.. Do you happen to know of its the same on the Turanza T005? I think Costco have a deal on them currently.
  12. Just had a look into it and i have found a set of Brigestone Turanza T005 for £84 fronts and £143 rears and they have a £25 off if you buy 4 making it £446 plus £17 delivered. I am looking to get the wheels refurbished soon so i can just take them with me and they will fit the new tyres when they have been refurbished. Even from the blurb on the website: "Bridgestone have included their B-Silent technology in the Turanza T005 tyre, to help minimise road noise and enhance driver comfort." Does that sound like a good deal?
  13. thanks for that.. Surely they have to be the same size though for the specific wheels so they will be the same profile.. Unless i am missing something. Thanks i will look into it.. I think Costco do Michelin so can ask about them. According to the service (Just over a month ago) one tyre is almost new (I knew bout that) and the others are at about 4mm.. Its hightly possible that as the car wasnt used that much over covid period that they are past their best and causing the harshness.
  14. Funnily enough I have seen some Michelin PS5 for the front for a good price today. Never even really thought about comfort orientated tyres to be honest. Do you have any recommendations?
  15. Hi all, I have had my IS now for just over a month and one thing i have noticed is that the suspension is very harsh. It may be a result of the utterly terrible roads that are about and coming from a GS is making it much more noticeable. The car has full service history and there is nothing stating any issues with the shocks so i dont think there is a problem with that just a fair bit harsher than the Luxobarge GS450h.. Anyway, looking to the future has anyone managed to get a softer ride using ajustable shocks/coilovers or are the Luxury/Premier shocks/springs a straight swap considering they are aimed at comfort over sportyness? Any help is appreciated.
  16. Its not a dealer its a good friend and i am getting a decent deal as it is.. I have just actually realised it looks VERY similar to my old 200SX S13 KG2 Colour and i think i have a old touch up in the garage for that unless its dried up after 15_ Years.. 🤣
  17. Yeah, For the sake of a tenner though for a touch up to not make it as prominent to see daily its worth looking into.
  18. LOL This is uncanny.. I am in the process of possibly buying a 2014 IS300h F-Sport and one of the wheels has a slight curb scuff on it. The rest are mint but i would be a bit apprehensive getting just one refurbished in case the match was slightly out. Does anyone have a touch up paint code that is a close match to the colour of the IS300h F-Sport to make it stand out less until the others get inevitably curbed and i might get them all done in a nice matte bronze. 😄
  19. Thanks for the reply's everyone. I do love the sound of my current ML system in my GS450H. I am no audiophile but it is certainly the best sounding integrated audio setup i have heard. My friend has a IS300h and his ML Audio sounds fantastic as well. I would love a RC200t but honestly they are pretty rare and out of my price range. I have however decided on either a newer shape (2012 Onwards) GS300h or GS450h as long as its F-Sport or Premier (Maybe a luxury if the price and mileage is right) with the ML Audio system and preferably the 12.5" screen. There are a couple on AT but i will have to travel a bit unless i can get the car shipped to my local Lexus dealer (If thats still something they do). I would even consider a IS300h F-Sport with ML but from what i can tell they tend to be even more expensive than GS300h. Due to the current pricing hike on used cars this will probably be the most i have spent on a car so i would definitely prefer to get something i want rather than pay through the nose and regret it.
  20. Hi All, I am on the look out for a new car but the market is really dry at the moment and what cars are out there are priced much higher than they were a few years ago but i guess thats the used car market at the moment. Anyhow, I currently own a 2006 GS450H SE with ML Audio. A couple of cars i have seen in my price range either have high mileage or they dont have the ML Audio upgrade. My Question is, how does either the stock or premium nav stand up against the 2006 ML Audio? As always, any help would be appreciated 🙂 Oh Happy New Year BTW LOL!
  21. I thought I would update this thread as I have had the shocks on the car for about 6 months now. After initially driving the car back and around for a little while I posted my original update and the view was what I thought at the time. Right now after the weather getting a little better and me driving more over the last few months my opinion has changed a little. The car still runs and drives fine however the car does feel a little rougher on the ****ty U.K. roads. When you drive on a nice smooth bit of tarmac it’s as nice to drive as it used to be but if the road is anyway slightly rougher than that the ride does suffer a little. I am guessing that it’s as some other people on this forum and the Lexus US forum speculated that the springs that are on the 450h are stiffer which is causing the slight roughness on anything but a smooth road. I would compare it to installing stiffer lowering springs but not changing the shocks. I really do comparatively low mileage (less than 4K a year) and as my drive to and from work is in traffic so it’s not being throw into corners or driven hard and wasn’t with the original shocks so I could t really comment on performance driving. In short I would recommend the swap if you are ok with the reduction in comfort as a trade off for getting your car back on the road for a little more than a quarter of the price of a new set especially if they fail an MOT. I have had the tracking done and it was a fair bit out but that did have little effect. I was also considering replacing the gaskets and maybe the top hats on the shocks but I may be “upgrading” the car in the future so I can live with it. I still have the original shocks and would actually be interested in getting them refurbished and refitted but after a little search I have struggled to find a reliable company in the U.K. that can do this for me so if anyone has done this or knows a company that undertakes this kind of work I would be happy to look into this further. I guess another avenue I could explore would be a complete coilover kit such as TEIN flex Z or BC Racing which both are about 800 a set but I am not sure if that will revert the ride quality to original or better or if I want to spend that sort of money on a car I might be getting rid of soon after already spending a few grand in the last year on the work it had done on the engine and batteries. I hope this gives a little insight into this swap for anyone that is interested.
  22. Finally received my car back the week before Xmas and I have just fitted the kit. I did have to fit the cable for the mic as I was having issues with it cutting off the call straight away wether I called someone or they called me I tried all the settings that were available to no avail. As far as the kit is concerned it seems to work ok but I do get some random connection and stuttering issues. After googling it does seem to be Bluetooth Cache issues as when I forget this device and then reconnect it works fine. I also connected my old school iPod classic using the aux cable and USB. The audio quality isn’t great but might just need the eq settings adjusted or maybe a different/better cable to the unit might sort it. So all in so far, not seamless and a couple of bits were a bit tricky (feeding the mic cable through under the drivers dash was a pain for my sausage fingers. I will update again when I have used it for a while.
  23. After finally getting my car back i can update this thread.. The KYB GS300 shocks fit on the GS450h with no issues and no noticeable difference to the drive of the car whatsoever. I had all 4 replaced and cost me £100 more than just one OEM GS450h front shock. The motors on the top of the struts to adjust dampening have just been tied out of the way.
  24. Unfortunately my car is still at Lex-Tech. Looks like they have now sorted the issue and the car is currently being tested. Hoping that I will be able to pick it up this week. Looking forward to getting it back and the GTA kit fitted.
  25. Hi all, as I am getting the engine work sorted on my car one of the things that has always bugged me is that the parking sensor on the front right is always on to some extent even though it’s not near anything. It looks like there is a stone chip right on the plastic part. As I am spending a lot to get the engine work done I thought I would look into getting this sorted. My question is, are the plastic covers available as a part or do I have to buy a whole new sensor? Do they just come in black or are the available colour coded or do I have to get them painted? I know they can be a bit sensitive, particularly if it snows but I would love to get them sorted. Any help would be appreciated.
