  1. Hello people in the know....I have just been given another rear diff. Was told by the guy I can have it as its only the standard one not the special one as he put it. So I says thanks n all that & takes it home. When I removed the diff cover I found this. i believe this is the special one as he put it. Looks pretty much like an LSD to me. Has anyone ever carried out a diff swap or removal & refit on an is200 before. If so. Is it a straight forward job. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance, Mark.
  2. I have a 2003 sport & every Isofix seat I have tried doesn't fit. It seems that the Isofix points are too far over to the centre of the seats. All the seats tried sit partly on the centre hump so the seat tries to twist to the actual inner part of the seat. Also all the standard belt type seats won't work either as the so called trained people that fit them say it has buckle crunch as the webbing that comes out of the seat with the latch on is too long. My wife has the Joie stages in her focus but only works in my IS200 in the rearward facing position which now is no good. So I have the dealer calling me back on Monday to advise me on what will actually fit. This is a nightmare & starting to look like I will have to get another car.
  3. Hi guys, just a bit of an update on this has it happened again.. My auto electrician came out to it this time, he found that the 120amp ALT fuse in the fuse box under the bonnet had been arcing & melted itself. He replaced it & all is peachy again. Thanks for your views & comments as this is what led him to the findings. Mark
  4. This DScan 900 I got is great. Does everything. Also used it for an airbag light on a Focus, head unit fault on an Audi A4, EML light on an Astra van, c class merc with ABS fault. All reset ok.
  5. Where is the list of fault codes located????
  6. Ok thanks, I just ordered one from amazon it's a CANSCAN D900. Appears to be able to do what I need. If it doesn't ill just send back. Thanks for the input. Mark
  7. Hi, today whilst on the motorway I had the EML light come on in the top right corner of the dash clocks, now I had limp mode or slow downs of any sort & can't seem to find anything wrong so I thought I would buy a code reader. After trolling through the tinterweb looking at so many different ones I thought I would ask your opinions. So what reader would you guys recommend please. Regards, Mark
  8. Ok there is probably a post somewhere with what I'm after but I cant find it so here goe's.............. Are the small cap bulbs in the switches, climate control, dash etc only available at the dealers as I can't even find any on ebay.........Does anyone know the type/part number for them.......I don't really want the LED ones if i can help it either.... Thanks in advance, Mark
  9. I have had my is200 now for just over a year & the other day i noticed that the VIN plate was no longer there, now it was there a few weeks back so i guess its come loose & fell off as the car hasnt been anywhere for it to be removed, so my question is how do i get a new one. Thanks, Mark
  10. Ok thanks. Ill look into it a bit more first before I decide. Thanks, Mark
  11. I have a pioneer double din & the PC2-93-4. I found when fitting it that the permanent 12v & ign live are joined at the head unit end so had to split these for it to work correctly. Also the speaker wires were ok front to rear but left & right was the wrong way round so instead of cutting them I used a needle to pop the clip pins out of the plug & put them the right way round. Other than that the lead was ok. It did the job but I had to remove my amp to get to the plug as it was at the rear of it but my friend didn't as his plug was at the front.
  12. I have a question for all you forced induction guys n girls out there...... We all know there are 3 types of supercharger ie.the roots supercharger....the screw supercharger & the centrifugal one. Now why do you all use the screw type when the centrifugal type is more efficient. Is it a fitment thing or what????, some one please give me the reason as I have a centrifugal one that i was thinking of using but dont know why none of you have fitted one. Also is a new ecu needed to run one of will the existing unit work as in allow more fuel because of the more air it is getting..??? Mark
  13. No it hasn't. I have checked all the fuse boxes as I saw that on another thread......it's not done it again either.
  14. I was always told that the headlight units had to be self leveling to use HID's.....is this true???? I was looking on the bay & the kits are really cheap...
