  7. hi everyone, i would like to take a moment to say thanks for a helpfull site, full of usefull info, wished i had found it earlier! i bought my is200 automatic three months ago, without a full service history(i know),because i had heard they were good cars, and fancied something a bit different, with a bit of class, i looked at 7 different ones untill i found this one,the best of the lot in my price range(hmmmm) i was told lots had been done mechanicaly recentlly, cam belt, brakes, recent service, but 3 weeks later this turned out to not to be quite true!2 days before it was booked into a garage to be fully inspected by my tame mechanic,it overheated and the cam belt snapped.....nice of sods law to step in!!!all valves bent, conrod through the sum, yeah im blessed. i have sourced a 90,000 mile engine and had it fitted, and set the mechanic loose to fix all the other problems/broken bits, and after a £1800 final bill(mates rates thank god) i now have a really good mechanically perfect lexus.now i plan to keep it for many years,i am impressed with the brand,i have gadgets and gismos i never knew i needed, but do enjoy. i also have plans for a very high end stealth audio install,as the standard one is ok but i am an audiophile,ex raver,ex spl junkie from the late 80s to early 90s,so needs some volume! will try and post some pictures of it when the project is happening. the site is proving to be very helpfull with tips and info on keeping my lexus tip top,as you cant buy a haynes manual for one!?CHEERS ALL, Nobby Stylz
