  1. I live near Warrington and take delivery of my 3rd IS-F next weekend- Ultra Blue with white leather this time... It is a June 2013 car with 460 miles on the clock....I guess I shall have to run it in for a little while. First one was a 58 plate in red, followed by 12 plate ultra blue with black leather.... I want to fit winter tyres ASAP so I will live longer- any suggestions please? Thanks in anticipation.... I look forward to seeing you guys on the NW road network!
  2. The new suspension is certainly more relaxing on a motorway trip...I do remember the previous IS-F was seriously jiggly and fidgety when you were simply cruising on motorway at 70mph...I remember the seatbelt would scuff on the front of my tie when I wore a suit, making an annoying chafing sound! This does not happen in the new car, yet the lack of body roll around roundabouts is still very much alive! An excellent result in giving the best of both worlds! I shall of course be monitoring the tyre tread wear! I also had issues with the tracking on the previous car, which Lexus Chester adjusted by way of a 4 wheel alignment on 3 separate occasions...they always commented how narrow the tolerances are, and thus how difficult it was for them to set up the car without it pulling to one side. Happy to report the new car has perfect alignment, and I wonder whether the steering mods have been introduced to rectify this earlier issue? Your pics are excellent, I regret not having taken some of my car when it was in the handover bay! Keep surprising the Porsche posse !!
  3. I do not fancy torching my leather to remove all the natural oils and moisture...a sure way to get dry and cracked leather that will look old! Fantastic result from Lexus to refit the seat! This firm never cease to amaze me... Did they do both front seats...you'll want a matching pair after all! Thanks for the tip...I will diarise seat re-covering after 35 months!
  4. I religiously use a Road Angel Professional Connected to retain my licence! My first IS-F went for 20,000 miles of painless driving over 18 months, needed 2 front tyres after 10,000 miles due to incorrect camber settings...Lexus Chester thought the car was poorly set-up, but still charged me £400 for a new pair of Potenzas...tyres were worn on inner edge only so not easy to spot (and I certainly was not keeping an eye on the tread depth at such low mileage - Evo mag ran their longterm IS-F for 18,000 miles before changing tyres, and I am sure they drive sideways more than I do). On the extended warranty front, how certain are you that you will categorically still own the car throughout this term?! Will you simply be buying the warranty for the next owner?
  5. I have just taken delivery of brand new ultra blue 2012 IS-F. Have previously owned 58 plate IS-F in red. Main differences are: 1) Less fidgety ride on motorway trips (when I just want to cruise along!) 2) Vital "sport button" now on the steering wheel , rather than hidden behind it! 3) Rev warning lights on the new huge tachometer to flag up a gear change when in manual mode. 4) DAB radio for crystal clear digital radio. 5) iPod connection in centre armrest. 6) Proper mechanical Limited Slip Differential to replace the previous electronic imitation - better stability and maintain power through bends. 7) Ultra Blue is now THE colour to make this car stand out properly from the IS range. 8) Steering wheel has ultra blue lower section to remind you what you are driving! 9) Hard drive stores albums by simply recording your CDs in about 5 mins. 10) Latest satnav is vital when negotiating UK road network... I am very pleased with how these subtle differences have perfected an already excellent car....it just needs adjustable suspension now to reflect my mood. Perhaps a 6 speed gearbox would also be better. I also drive an Audi R8 4.2 2008 model when the sun shines - manual gearbox, magnetic ride, ultra blue, a real blast of fun...but the IS-F sounds better, is just as fast on UK roads, can carry 3 passengers and my golf clubs! Enjoy your IS-F whatever age you buy! I see Lexus Glasgow have a new one at £39,995 if you fancy a black one...
