I found out that the rattle was caused by my tensioner pulley bearing being shot thanks for the advice

Well I was removing the battery and headlight bolt when they sheared they where rusted in oh well not the end of the world :)

Ok thanks for the information it's appreciated I'm so unlucky with the bolts on my Lexus I've sheared three in the months I've had the car headlight bolt and the bar on top of the battery too! but I drilled them out ok

I just changed my rear brake pads and was torquing up the wheels to 103nm and then suddenly the lug but snapped off so my question is how would I replace it and is it safe for now to drive with 4 bolts?

Well I just started it up and when the revs have dropped down it idles at about 550 rpm so that might be the cause would that cause that sort of noise? The noise it makes does sound like if your in a manual car and you don't give it enough revs to set off what do you think?

Ok well I checked the exhaust heatshield and I tried to remove the auxiliary belt, but when turning the 14mm tensioner bolt the bolt started to undo so I never removed it any advice? And also what should be the idle speed of my engine it's a 1996 Thanks

I purchased a ls400 roughly a month ago today i was sitting at the traffic lights with the car in drive and my foot on the brake with my window down and I heard a rattling noise coming from the engine bay on closer inspection it looked to be coming from near the power steering belt and it also occurs when the revs are held roughly 200 rpm above idle in neutral and park it sounds like someone putting a coin ontop of a vibrating washing machine if anyone could help me or has experienced it too could you help please it's driving me mad! Thanks in advance

The light behind my drivers heated seat button isn't working but the light saying its on does is there anyway of replacing the bulb?

Hey I'm new to this forum my names Philip This is my first post I purchased a 1996 ls400 with 228000 miles on the clock. It was £450 with a expensive private plate on it so I thought it was a steal, I purchased it off eBay so I didn't view it before I bought it I knew it had no MOT but it did have tax, I drove it home and all felt fine i was really impressed at how refined it is compared to my previous car a golf mk4, I got home and looked up the MOT history on the Internet and to my despair the previous owner had tried to MOT it and it had failed on a list of items one of which was Rear subframe corroded and seriously weakened, I have been looking around and can't find a second hand one for sale anywhere I was wondering if anybody knows if it's repairable instead?
