  1. ... and the ones who drive around with just their parking lights on.
  2. I forgot people who go and do their weekly shop in service stations while their car is blocking access to the pump they have just used.
  3. Middle lane hoggers People who drive with their fog lights on (front and back) People who turn their fog lights on because there is a bit of mist but you can still see miles up ahead People who don't turn their lights on when they need to hmmm... bit of a theme developing here...
  4. Not a t-shirt, but I followed a van owned by a scaffolding company with the slogan... "may your next erection be in the right hands" Made me smile. But I did not ask them for a quote.
  5. The new Abba album. Not sure. Elton John's Lockdown Sessions. Yes.
  6. I agree with you on that one. I also don't like the fact that - the switch for the adaptive headlights is hidden away by your right knee... why can't it be a button at the end of the light stalk!? - full beam switches to low beam below approx 30-35 mph, just when you need it to illuminate a sharp bend (you then have to switch it the auto function off using the switch by your right knee!) Having said this, the adaptive main beam is otherwise brilliant.
  7. I am surprised to see that Mesa Red is no longer available and has been replaced with Fuji Red, which is a solid colour. On the other hand, Terrane Green and Blazing Carnelian are both still available... although I have never seen either on the road on in dealerships. Incidentally I never buy new (the depreciation hit is just too high on new cars), but I would have bought a NX in Blazing Carnelian (preferably with the cream/white interior) if I had found one.
  8. The adjustment is one of the vehicle settings accessible from the screen between the speedo and the charge monitor/rev counter. Selection is via the right hand steering wheel button. Note that you can only access that menu when the car is stationary... as soon as the car moves, the menu greys out.
  9. The online configurator is also available on the UK site: https://www.lexus.co.uk/car-models/nx/build/?path=choose-submodel/0323fb5f-9bfa-4c22-92ac-fb637f84c451
  10. Nah... wrong colour. Seriously, it was a V8 sport plus, black with red interior. Beautiful. Although after having a black RX, I would never again buy a black car.
  11. I have managed to get a V8 as a courtesy car from Hedge End a couple of times :-)
  12. Michelin Crossclimate all day long! Had them on my previous NX, and on my RX before that, and I can't wait for my current Yokohama Bluearth to wear down so I can replace them with the latest Crossclimate. They are excellent in the wet and in the snow, and so much quieter than the Yokohamas.
  13. My mobile phone is too big to fit in the charging tray (S21 Ultra), and needs to be plugged in to benefit from AndroidAuto. The cupholders are not really practical as phone holders and are often in use, and having the phone on my lap is not ideal. I had to find an alternative solution. I had been considering a seat gap storage box, but wanted something that would be large enough for the phone, but not too big that they would be a hindrance. I found and bought this and I am pleased with it - although I have only used it for a couple of days - so thought I would share as it may be of interest to others. It is not the tightest fit, but at the same time does not slide about, and I like the fact that the colour matches that of my seats (it comes in different colours). https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08PTKSW3G/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  14. Does this mandatory requirement apply to the whole of the country or only to specific areas?
  15. I agree that winter tyres work best under 7 degrees. They are made of a softer and therefore stickier compound than regular tyres and will wear out quickly in temperatures above 10 degrees. I lived in southern Germany for 9 years, and used to swap to winter tyres from late October to mid April.
  16. The only one that matters, the rear door/hatch/boot, is metal
  17. Going to Paris next week. Finally managed to get a magnetic UK badge off Amazon.
  18. Should make a detour via Le Touquet for lunch. Well worth it.
  19. James, I think you may be confusing Active Noise Control with Active Sound Control. The latter comes (came?) as standard on F-Sport models and aims to simulate a sporty engine note (and gear changes) through the speakers. The sound is louder depending on whether you are in Eco, Normal, Sport, Sport + mode. On the NX at least, it is activated via a wheel like switch by your left knee. And I agree, it's a bit like the paddles, you play with it a few times and then forget about it.
  20. I wonder if this is an attempt to keep the price competitive, although you'd think both would remain available as optional extras.
  21. Possibly, could it be that it later changed due to allow a quick and easy override of the system?
  22. There is no speed limiter on Lexus cars sold in the UK... currently. Speed limiters will be mandatory on all new cars sold in Europe - including the UK - from 2022. https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/car-news/103530/uk-set-to-adopt-eu-mandated-speed-limiters https://www.confused.com/on-the-road/safety/speed-limiters-mandatory-on-new-cars I have driven cars with speed limiters and they are a good idea. Before anyone else says they are dangerous, they are not: they can be overridden simply by pressing the throttle.
