  3. I had an IS250 before the ISF and this had the same vague steering feel and would tramline, I think Lexus must use a softer bush to help with the 'Lexus ride quality' which degrades after time. I cannot stress how different the steering feel and straight line stabilty is since my upgrade. I have looked at my service sheet the tyres treads were checked and the fronts show half a mill difference from inner/middle/outer so thats a bonus to.
  4. Hi Doug shame about your rim, I have had to refurb my rims a few weeks ago and found a standard BBS colour that matches my ISF rims, I have started a thread with a pic a few days ago so you could check the colour out.

I had the same experience a couple of years ago needed to change the front tyres even though the rest of the tyre had plenty of meat the inner edge was showing canvas the front end would also tramline and the steering was vague. So did some digging on the web and found out the inner lower track control arm bushes are rubbish and have alot of give from new so when old and worn give you less control and alot of play. My solution was a pair of replacement polyurathene bushes with aluminium carriers from Figs Engineering in the US these cost just over £300 a pair but if you have access to a press you can get the bushes alone for £160 and press the bushes into the original carriers. To me this is a good fix because I now get even tyre wear across the tread so I no longer have to junk a good pair of front tyres with inner edge wear and I think this has saved me money long term, a big bonus is the steering fell is so much better the car tracks arrow straight over uneven surfaces and the car reacts to the smallest of inputs through the steering wheel, hope this helps.
  6. After seaching for years to find the oem ISF wheel colour I have found a BBS standard colour that matches. My own rims have suffered from curb rash but when I ran over a piece of metal it damage my rear rim so I had no choice but to go ahead and get them refurbished. I tried a couple of local paint companys but no one was close, I then thought I would have one last look on the web and checked out the images for BBS rims and saw that the Tesla 3 aero rims have a very simular colour. BBS have black, anthracite, silver and bronze colours, I then search for BBS anthracite and it brings up the WheelPaints company ref TESLA MODEL 3 AERO ANTHRACITE WP-24-00-260 which can be got in water base (1ltr approx £55 with delivery) or solvent base. I ordered the paint and gave it to the refurbishers and they applied a gloss finish afterward, I am very happy with the colour and you can see the after left side and before right side in the image. You can see a slight difference because these pics were taken a week apart.

I do remember seeing this topic when I was trying to find the battery spec but 068 reference is not on the Toyota/Lexus spec so I was not sure if I could use that figure.There's alot of Halford type websites showing there own references for the ISF but when I checked them a bit more closely they are the same as the IS250, In the end I just wanted to know I had the right battery for the right car.
  8. At the start of the lock down my battery gave up the ghost so I quickly called Lexus at Rayleigh in Essex but they had gone into full lock down so I tried Halfords. Ordered the battery specified through there website and paid for fitting aswell. I take the car to Halfords were the battery is changed over then the fitter says the new battery is a lower rating than the one taken out (not a Lexus one) and asked me why I have chosen it, I tell him thats the one on the website so no more is said. After a few weeks Lexus reopens I check with them and the new battery is rated to low so I get Lexus to fit the right one take the Halfords one back and they refunded the money. So if anyone has to replace there battery I have attached a picture of the top of the new one fitted from Lexus. Hope this is useful it was a real pain trying to get the correct spec for the battery at the time.
  9. Just an update to my previous submission, picked up the box of discs from Lexus at Rayleigh and swapped the discs over without any issues. Thought I would test it out on a run to a local road that I know that has been around for a long time. So getting in the car started a search on the screen typed in the street name and then the district but then the sat nav does not recognise the street so I swap the discs back and try again and it recognises the search using the old disc. I then put the new disc back in again still the same, I drive over to the road I know is there and it is showing up on the map. I did this again with another road with exactly the same result not recognised, after a call to Lexus at Rayleigh they said to take the car to them and they would have a look. Arrived at Lexus and a technician takes a look all is OK so he tries a street search and then puts in the district and it throws back several choices first selection does not work so goes back and selects another this time it recognises the selection and allows you to proceed. So after he has checked it out he admits these sat navs are the bain of his life he's always being asked to sort them out. So to sum up it looks like you have to keep choosing one of the districts the satnav throws up until it's happy with your choice. I think I will be using the Garmin as a back up anyway.
  10. To all who have had enough of the state of the UK roads there is an answer. It's a wheel and suspension upgade that will give you the abilty to drive normally along most UK roads instead of looking like a formula 1 car warming up it's tyres as you try to avoid the bomb holes and canyons every ten metres. There might be a small drop in the ISF abilty to go round corners at the same rate as the standard setup but you will have the security knowing that your suspension turrets will not be going through your bonnet. One further piece of equipment not shown will be a winch to drag you out of the more inaccessible craters. I know there will be a big rush to get this kit to fit to your pride and joy so you can get back to driving in a straight line again.

I looked on the web site you @gb1600e mentioned a couple of weeks ago and it gave me a price of 174 quid for 2017-2018 map update DVDs (4 in the set) so I got in contact with Lexus Rayleigh were I get my servicing done and ordered it from them at 152 quid I know it's alot for the updated maps but I just wanted it to work properly cos there are alot of comments about systems not working correctly after using the OEM discs. I would have put up with the original disc but I have wanted to use the sat nav on a couple of occasions and it would send me in total the wrong direction so I ended up not using it at all now. I hope the discs work out OK for you I think there will be alot of members waiting to see what you think of your purchase. I will post what happens with my issues with the new discs aswell.
  12. @Womble72 The user name is from my job I'm a CAD draughtsman/designer for a windows doors and facades company. That would be a cool name if I had been called that for real. I intend to be at the next meet at the Hare with my brother, I want to get there a little earlier next time I got the last spot in the car park last time and. Might try the cooked breakfast if it's not to busy inside. @gb1600eGoing back to the subject of the sat nav DVD I bit the bullit and bought one for 152 quid from Lexus Rayleigh when I swapped it over tried a couple of test street search names and it does not recognise the searches but if I put the old one back in the street searches work OK. So I don't know if the sat nav needs to be reset or if there's an issue with the new DVD so I will be calling Lexus Rayleigh and hope they can give me any pointers.
  13. To CB, I did remove the DVD to check the serial number on the disc. I looked at a couple of youtube videos but the instructions posted by Texas are much clearer. The one thing I would advise is to use a small sucker to pull the panel out if you can get hold of one, less so likely to mark the front panel with a screw driver head. To Womble72, so were you the one with the red ISF further into the car park at the Hare pub Chelmsford thats a great colour for the ISF. First time on this forum, have had my 2010 isf for 18 months (had a 2006 is250 SE-L for 6 years previous) now used as a daily driver and has been a true Lexus drives and looks like it has come straight from the factory. No one knows what it is since I have had the car only two people have said oh it's an isf. I have a question for anyone out there, is there any difference between the Sat Nav DVD for the is250 and the isf I am going to update the Sat Nav DVD and want to make sure I get the right one. I have attached a couple of pics of my prized possession and will be looking to go to any car meets in the Essex area this year.
