  1. Happy Birthday 1G-FE_SC12!

  2. I wonder what came of the turbo manifold, was the car ever sold? Would love to get my hands on the turbo manifold...
  3. If you put it like that then i agree with you it is a laybour of love doing this type of thing thanks for your input.
  4. Hey Sparky is the 1GFE just not able to handle boost because every post i've read that talks about this engine being boosted ends in a lot of money being spent and the car being at the workshop more often on the road, I'm one of the guys on this forum that has been saving to do a bbost upgrade to my 1 GFE but i have to say i'm feeling very turned off the idea and rather just selling the car for what i can and getting a my second choice a Bugeye scooby WRX. My only concern is i'll never get my money back for the Lex and despite it i actually enjoy driving the car I just miss the launch of a boosted car ( had a Bora 1.9 TDi 110 remapped to 140hp and 320 nm torque (236 ft/lb), so was thinking about investing in this kit for the Lex but if its gonna be unreliable and cost me even more money then i don't see the point, i read your build cover to cover and i can only imagine the dosh flogged on your project only to end up with a completely different engine Then i have to wonder if the cost justifies the trouble.... whats your oppinion?
  5. its the same kit i'm looking at... why leave the DV off matt? you would need it for overboost.
  6. Hey Sam My condolences to for the bad news I really hope ffor the best for you and your Lex, because i too am planning on going the same route as you but think i'll give it a miss if you are experiencing so many issues so early on, If the issue has been resolved i'd really like to hear it, any way look forward to the next updates... GOOD LUCK!
  7. I'm sorry for dusting this topic off but seem to be having an issue with my outside temp display as well... All i get is "- -" displayed and i doubt it takes 20 minutes to pick up a good reading (it took me at least 20 mins to drive home from the lot where i bought the car from) is there any thing i can do to troubleshoot my temp display or lack of it rather? Yr help and advice will be greatly appreciated
  8. "B" in a Circle, is that not Bemani?
  9. Thanks Sparky, I appreciate the offer but i really am looking for a full console allthough i know how to hook it up, i really do want a fully OEM operation, My plans for doing a carpc requires that the factory switches work as they should.
  10. Hi all i'm looking for the sat nav dash console, but without screen, i just need the part that includes the air vents, mechanism, buttons, screen shroud and hood, can pay by paypal, must be delivered to Republic of Ireland have seen them on ebay for £99, but were not willing to deliver to ROI, all reasonable deals (incl delivery costs) will be considered.
  11. Thanks for the info but the Supercharger was pretty easy to come by its the rest i'm after
  12. Hi all, i'm new on the forum and will be taking ownership of my "new" 2000 IS200' i have already started looking for my go faster bits, as i am a South African expat, i was able to source a "like new" Toyota SC12 supercharger to which my mate said he would fit a bigger pully to, to supply a bit more boost, my question is based on the fact that i just want to add a bit more pep in the otherwise comfortable ride, now being involved in the South African modified scene for pretty much the last 6 - 8 yrs so i'm not exactly a noob, however i do know that when boosting a 4 potter you should use hardened internals if you doing it propperly or if you want reliability and can accept that you won't be breaking any records, you can cheat by using a metal gasket to lower compression and slap a bolt on kit and if you look after it your ride can and should give you many miles of smiles. I'm assuming that the principle is the same with the 6 potter of the IS200, so, with the idea that i'm only interested in a little more power, can i get away with bolting the SC on or would i need to lower the compression? Also, where can i get an intercooler kit and cat back system for reasonable prices, eventually i'll also want to get a set of Eibach street pro springs. My last question involves the breaking system, is it advisable to uprate them or are the standard ones good enough for 30 -50 hp more? Any way i look forward to your help and advice, thanks in advance
