Richard it was pretty easy two minute job i put mine to 5 and at first thought it was ok but i found my self keep cancelling it thinking i had pulled lever all way so i reverted to 5 i also did the procedure on my daughters RX450 and she loves it at 5 truly a two minute job

Yes John i did upgrade in June to the 2019 one maybe it is that then I feel a bit of a Numpty now i didnt think they speed cameras in the database i have the Road Sign Thingy on which beeps if i go over limit i thought that was all it had one. Well i did think the same initialy but there are cameras all over round here in the north yorks area . but that dos not throw warning just certain roads. So maybe its just a certain type of camera that initiates it Thanks for replies Robert

Something i cant figure out sometimes on certain roads I hear a 3 beep sound different to all others Lane departure,Parking sensors etc its a Low frequency Beep beep beep just 3 nothing comes on dash, I go to my daughters and when i come off the roundabout on the 1079 i hear this beep beep beep other roads now and then but there doesnt seem anything that can trigger this. As anyone else heard this or know what it is the car is 2018 450 Premier

Nick It doesnt sound too good but as Chris said could be air in the oil system. I remember many years ago on a 1.6 cortina i had(the oil pump was external on Filter Housing) i took it off for some obscure reason. and bought a new one I fitted it on and it knocked like crazy I switched off called my dad i was only 22 at the time the first words he said did you prime the pump look of puzzlement on my face. My dad took pump off removed plate filled with oil replaced it and bingo no knock (mind my father was a Rolls Royce Engine Fitter)

Stephen Have you tried fleaBay theres plenty on there if you type in Google Gas A matic shocks it comes up with KYB shocks that will fit Lexus GS450 the yanks fit those as opposed to oem and by all accounts are better specced than oem I have not purchased any but was just looking and came across them. Its worth a try no matter what if yr car fails MOT thats it till you can afford what you want. sorry can be of no further help Robert

they may not be the correct ones as the gs450 will be made for the heavy battery in the boot i think you will have to have the 450 shocks

Well Sami you are on the right track Just depressure yr tyres to the correct pressure then reinitlise it, at that pressure yu have set and all should be good it will set all to the 36 psi approx the pressure you should be running at

yes patch it back it is held on by a couple of bolts and the hole gets bigger and sheild drops of my 2006 did this all i did was get a large washer and bolted it back on no problem after that. yours might not be as simple as mine but im sure on observation you will sort it hth

Thank you so much for that info Colin It mostly went over the top really your Knowledge astounds me, it is great to have some one on our Forum that as this level of expertise It was only curiosity that led me to ask the question my 450 is running like a dream all the power that i need on tap I Did think it was not as quick as the mk3 SEL i had but that may not be the case it just felt like it, Also now that the Goodyear Eagles are bedded in (i hav done 2K on them) the car is whisper quiet and the slight rumble frorm passenger side as completly gone. Mind if i am on a really bad road you can hear the road but on normal well kept roads it is very quiet so all in all very pleased. Once again Colin and Chris thank you for the info Robert

Thanks for That Colin Quote The 2GR-FXS uses electric motors for variable valve timing whereas the FSE uses solenoids and hydraulic pressure. This allows the FXS to operate in both conventional OTTO mode as well as Atkinson mode. Atkinson mode keeps the intake valves open during part of the compression stroke to reduce friction and improve gas mileage. I believe they introduced the 2GR-FXS in 2016 for all models of the GS350.. not just the hybrid. I believe the FXS is a less mechanically complicated motor as well. end I gleaned this info from US site does this apply to our models

thank you so much for that Colin that does clear it up But i did think obviously wrong that the Mk 3 was also Atkinson cycle but i did notice that my 2010 450 accelerated a lot faster than my mk4 its still extremely quick i hasten to add i did think that they may have dropped the power of engine a little but thought no more about it as it is still very quick of the mark well for me that is Once again thanks for the info Robert

I always thought engine in the 450 was 2GRFSE but looking in my manual its 2 GRFXE mine is 2018 mk4 Premier I am hoping that Colin will pop up he usually knows these things or does anyone know there must be a difference TAI Robert
