  1. Hi KC14, Reliability been excellent (as expected from dealer serviced car), I do enjoy the car, but I'm disappointed with the mpg return and the tall gearing etc. If the mpg were nearer the quoted figure of 54 mpg (the reason I picked it) I could live with the other issues. Had I of believed the forum re the mpg I would of bought a petrol beamer with better mpg!! Mitch
  2. KC14, No sorry I have no idea. The service manager seemed surprised when reading the report back from the tech who carried out the work. Ahmedali44, I'm not really to fussed about performance, my daily commute is 104 miles so good mpg is off more importance. I always use Shell. cheers Mitch
  3. HI all, Had my 09 220d (FLSH) in at Lexus for the EGR to be cleaned as mpg the usual 38 or so (95% motorway driving). Upon collection the service manager (a real good guy by the way) advised me that as well as the EGR being cleaned it had a ECU upgrade to improve MPG. Early days yet, but it seems to of made no difference at all. Has anybody else received this "upgrade"? Do we know what difference it is supposed to make?
  4. Hi Gang, I've took the plunge and have 19" wheels fitted to my 2009 IS 220d. The tank avg dropped from 45 to 35 (motorway cruising at 70mph) instantly. The tyre sizes are 275 x 35 x 19 rear and 235 x 35 x 19 front, pressures are 32 front and 36 rear. My driving style has not changed and nothing else has been changed on the car. Could the loss in MPG be due to the stickiness/larger contact area of the larger tyres or is it because of the effective increase in outside diameter of the new tyres kidding the on board electronics that calculate the MPG? Original wheels and tyres were the standard LEXUS 16" As another thought is this why some of us get better MPG; - smaller wheel size???? Many thanks Mitch
  5. Hi Folks, I'm looking for a set of 18" Lexus alloy wheels (with good tyres) cash waiting WHY cheers Mitch
  6. Hi Folks, Thanks for the replies! Sorry about the delay we've been away for a few days V66, yes it is keyless and it is the complete transponder and removable key unit many thanks Mitch
  7. Thanks Folks, .........................Lexus dealer it is then. Gulp!!
  8. Hi All, I am now the proud owner of a 2009 IS220d SE Nav in Sable! Unfortunately she only came with 1 key. Lexus quoted me £400 for a key and coding, is this right or is there a cheaper option? Any help appreciated, Cheers Mitch
  9. Guys, Why is 100k considered a problem area? These engines are good for 150-250k in other vehicles?? thanks Mitch
  10. Hi Gang, I've just put a deposit down on a 2009 IS 220d SE Nav (56k FLSH), the car will be driven at least 25K a year (mostly m/way for my daily commute) and will need to pull my caravan probably 12 times a year. I went for the Lexus after owning Toyota's and in the belief that they were ultra reliable and would give me 4 years trouble free motoring. After NOW reading the forum pages I see this may not be the case. I intend to keep the Lexus service history .........................Have I made a bad choice?? thanks Mitch
