  1. I spoke to Lex UK several months ago now, and gave them the URL for this forum to tell them about the idle issue. They were at first telling me that I was an issolated case and they had not heard anything about the dash issue. They obviously have been here and done some research and got their fingers out of their A** !!! Well Im buying a diesel now so, bye bye to the old days of 17MPG !!!
  2. Dave, Mate you shouldn't really be driving the car if the dash light's arn't on !!! Taking a risk for being pulled.
  3. Seen the front ones on E-bay, not so sure about the rest though mate !
  4. I bought keyring from E-bay for £5 including delivery. Droped it once, it badly got damaged ! Dropped it again (by the way these are accidents, Im not doing it on purpose !) and its just fallen apart ! Waste of money in my case.
  5. Jason, Have you found that there is a significant drop in performance using LPG ? Does the car pull as much as before? Can you simply switch between fuel and gas, or do you get issues with it? How much did the full install cost for your one? @ 40MPG that's well worth thinking about !
  6. Raz, you obviously got far too much money than sence !!! (Jokin of course ! )
  7. Fargo>> I've been training for the last couple of weeks ready to start going to Wing Chun. Where do you go because its not a huge martial art like kung fu. How much are the classes you go to? Do you need to be super fit before you start? Im heavily working out preparing myself before I go because I don't really want to go down there like a weener and be outa breath, know what I mean bruv? Cheers for keeping me posted on your views !
  8. My 94 LS400 idles @ 1200 when cold, but I don't get jolts when moving off after firing her up ! :mat:
  9. I recently bought the CD on E-bay. It came as 2 CD's and contains USELESS info and crap diagrams and poor quality images that are supposed to help in identifying components !! I spent £6 getting the CD. You have to install the software, a dated pathetic front end and less than useless content when you do a specific search i.e. brakes it gives you all the useless info and nothing useful like Diagrams in how to change discs or pads !! Don't waste your money with the CD !!
  10. Russell >> At least you could get into your car !!!! I unlocked the door and was pulling on the door handle and the door would just NOT open ! There's me, 7:00 AM yankin on the flippin door handle in a car park, looking like a complete prat ! Finnaly after couple of minutes worth of wresteling with the door it decided to give in and opened up!
  11. Maneesh >> Im in Maidstone Kent and it was real bad over here ! The usual 10 min journey ended up taking 1 hour 15 min. People were being cautious rather than trying to drive at the fastest speed they could without slipin and sliding (UNLIKE SOME PEOPLE !!), but then again, you are a Sowf London lad ! (Jokin ...)
  12. Maneesh >> Hey buddy ... I got '94 LS400 and the battery is a Panasonic 3v BR1216. Don't say I didn't do anything for ya !! B)
  13. James, that's pretty good link mate ! Cheers. I might attempt that today !
  14. I tried using carb cleaner from Halfords, but that really didn't do anything. I had it taken to a garage, not Lexus though, and they were telling me that there are gaskets that will need replacing if they were to take the whole throttle body out (which is what they recommend is needed). I was informed that there are 2 gaskets however calling lexus parts, they were saying there is only 1. I have a series 1 94 model, so Im a little confused really. The trottle body instructions are okay, but the stuff I used just didn't do the trick. There is such a solid carbon deposit behind the butterfly valves that I think Im goning to need to use Sulphuric acid or something (joking ofcourse !).
  15. For those interested in seeing some pix on how to remove the aerial, send me an E-mail. I just did mine and took some photo's as I did it so you can see it before you try. I didn't have this and would have wished if it was available ... B) my e-mail is ls400@ardavan.co.uk
  16. Colin => It makes no difference in my case still get idling @ 600
  17. Guys, I got the same thing on driver and passenger doors ! I have been thinking of doing it too because mine does it on and off ! Im going to have a go at trying to fix my aerial I destroyed earlier last week !
  18. Could be the coil wearing too. But like Collin the Barbarian says, do the basics first before you jump into the deep end !
  19. Cheers for quick reply there Paul. Lexus recons they should be @750. I've reved mine up to 750 but it doesn't sound right. It sounds too loud ! Anyway, interested to see other people's experience on this ...
  20. 93_LS400 >> Your not the only one mate. I feel like a right old plonker. Im sitting in the carwash, and what do I do? Bosh, put on the radio as the flamin dryer is going over the roof !! Before I know it, I can see th arial keeling over and just ... ahhh... i was gona shoot myself !!!! Can I have a prat of the year medal / award please ? I recon we should acknowledge supreme stupidity in this world !! What's people's views on that? If you do something stupid, u get recognition for it. I think that's only fair ! Anyway, Im now goning to have a go @ the weekend to see if Bison has been telling fibs or not :iraqi-info-minister:
  21. This is regarding the idle speed on the car when idle or when in drive with the brakes on. My car is sitting on 600 RPM when it's warmed up. Please can those of you who have LS400z let us know what your vehicle idle @ !! Many thanks in advance for your replies ladies & gent !
  22. I have an LS400 '94. Left it @ Heathrow for a month with the alarm active, and I did not have any issues with the car at all ! Started first time without any issues. My technical diagnosis and heavily developed experience in vehicle electronics indicates to me that there may be an electronic fault somewhere
