  1. Well this is a turn up for the books normally the snow just passes right past our doors. Just looked out the window ad it's snowing, and the flakes are getting bigger as I type.

Colin was this the one you were looking at the other weekend? We were wondering if you purchased it.
  3. What I would like to add is that we have no street lighting, infact it is so dark at night we have to get one of the cars and move it so as we can see to lock the doors using the headlights of the vehicle. We have no bin collections either, so I really do not know what we are paying this money for.
  4. Thanks guy's for the reply's, and yes no win no fee but the £480.00 would need to paid for the surveyor, which is non refundable, this is what made me think it was a scam. Our workshop was new in June last year, now I am sure that we have to pay total area including floor to roof area which it is quite a tall unit, other than lights and the occasional car on a ramp we have no use of this area.
  5. If anyone could help me I would be really graetful I have received a call yesterday from a company claiming to be able to reduce my business rates! what a fantastic idea, now I am not sure it this is a scam or if it is possible hence asking for some free advice. They claim to send a surveyor around to do another survey £480.00, then they will submit a claim to the council on our behalf and claim that they can reduce my rates by at least 50% and have the set until 2010. What they say is that council's pay people to rate the property and that they are paid on a commission basis so the more they say the more they get paid! They claim they there are a number of reasons why businesses can claim even due to someone else being in the area, now this sounds a really good idea to me but I am not sure that it will work hence asking for some advice. They say that they work on a no win no fee basis, so they must be pretty confident that they will win, or maybe the £480 is the scam part. Anyhow as our rates are silly money any reduction would be appreciated so all the advice I can get will be truly appreciated. Maria
  6. Golf could be another suggestion, it's non contact and a few beers in the club house after. Or Go karting, one of those endurance races
  7. Update:- They are planning to add Clay pigeon shooting and quad biking from March onwards. This information has not been released yet and is not on the web site, if this is something you may be interested then speak directly to Rusty his number is on the link I gave above. At least with these options they should be something to suit everyone.
  8. What about paintball? My mate ownes a site in Bournemouth, if there was enough people (min 10 )you could poss have the site to yourself all day on an exclusive basis, how about arranging a BBQ or picnic etc, also you are covered by the company's insurance. His web site is here
  9. Personally I would hide it, making it obvious does not stop them, you must have seen clips on tv they just wear hooded jackets and then put a bag or something over it or even just cut the wires.
  10. We fitted cctv a few years back on the house, not that we had any problems but at the time we did have a fair few £'s worth of cars on the drive and in the garage, it was fantastic when we were selling vehicles as it had sound on it as well!! Any how flicked over the tv to have a look at what was going on and it was not working, after a bit of investigation we found the some b****rd had nicked the camera, unless you knew it was there you could not see it. I would recommend that if you are going to do a DIY home job do it whilst you are painting or something that way people who drive past or walk past won't know what you are really doing.
  11. I have just had a e-mail from Game about this it's being sold for £99.00 on a pre order and you get 2000 game rewards worth £5.00. The e-mail does not say when due out but maybe the site does.
  12. Autowatch do some really good ones as well, contact your nearest dealer, they can be colour coded to match your bumpers like most of the sensors.
  13. The jeep also has a very low re-sale value, they seem to lose more money than most vehicles. If you go for the Shogun go for the 2.8 engine I know with the jap versions of the 2.5 that they are very underpowered.
  14. It's really not painfull :P What I was trying to tell you was after waxing they massage the area that has been waxed with a product, it does not hurt it's only a cream, but this could be the embrassing bit So in other words your genitals will be massaged.
  15. This is an old post but if anyone is still looking then:- I know a place that has 1 left £209.50 + VAT, not including fitting if you are interested them pm me and I may be able to get a bit of discount. (It fits upto year 1998 also it's detachable)
  16. Right seing as all the club rules seem to be broken on this tread I will add my bit I still have a few screens which I am willing to sell with free instructions for the removal and refit of the MK2 LCD's. You will need to do the install yourself hopefully this will make it more cost effective. Please note these screens are the same screens that are used in the MK1 so if you need them we are also able to supply. As you can see from previous posts we have repaired these for members on here but due to the time factor don't feel as a business it is econimical to charge the fitting costs as explained in previous posts these are not the easiest things to fit, unless you are confident of your soldering skills. Mods I am sorry I have broken the rules here but as this post has not been pulled I thought I was ok to add my bit.
  17. We need at least 15 new panels and that's just a 1/4 of one side of the garden!! B&Q today closed it's garden ctr to the pubic they had sold two large piles of panels before lunch, I did feel for the member of staff who had to dodge the wind to get things for people. We have spent the afternoon picking up the broken ones and placing them on the fire pile for burning at a later date, don't think it's worth replacing them just yet. Back in the summer B&Q were selling panels for £6.99 today £12.99 talk about a sellers market.
  18. What he is not telling you is that after waxing you normally have a massage :P :P with a Tea Tree product to calm the area down, oh I bet he be crying will stop then!! Any one know if the Channel 4 programme The Salon is coming back on soon? maybe this would be the place full tv coverage. :P
  19. House cost £30k say it's worth min £100k today = £70k profit are you really just going to give him the profit? He has owed you £20k for a few years now what about interest? he is living rent free at your expense ARE YOU MAD!!! Sorry Gord, but you are just to nice, I can understand where you are coming from but it seems to me that he is taking you for a ride, and maybe family does not mean as much to him as it does to you. One thing that I thought about when originally reading this post was you were concerned with the tax because you already had a house, surely by letting someone else example your wife sell the house would she not be liable for inheritance tax? I know there are ways around this but it's worth looking to. Good luck If it's any help I know a solicitor who deals with house sales etc, I will ask him to have a quick look over this thread Maria
