  1. Hi, I can't remember exactly what I did. Could have been the car battery. I remember that we changed the battery at some point. You can have a word with Lexus. They are very helpful. Hope you find your answer soon.
  2. I would appreciate any update on the service plan. Don't have a car yet, but when I do get one, I would like to consider the service plan instead of using a local garage (simply because of the hybrid element). I am thinking of getting RX400H over 5 years old. Thanks
  3. A little update: went to cargiant yesterday with a view to buy an RX400H Limited Edition. Was so excited about this car. Well a bit less after I read about the executive ltd edition. Anyway, we were ready to get the car yesterday. I went straight to the car when we got there. From a distance the car looks "cool". I had a quick look around the car - multiple rusty chips on the bonnet, scuffed marks on the front sides, a small dent on the rear side and a big dent in the middle of the boot door (it looks so ugly), tear on one of the rear seat. That's what I could see, but I am quite sure that there are other marks on the car. I had no feeling whatsoever for the car after I saw all these. Kids were after me ... buy it ... buy it. My daughter was more interested in the badge/logo. I could not be bothered to go to the reception for test drive etc. We just walked away and went to have some proper fish instead (sushi - not everyones' taste, I know). It was RX400h Ltd Edition, 2009, 85k miles, £12,100 plus road tax. Last service due was Feb14, that was not done. Last service done Feb 13. There I am, carless but not careless .... the search goes on....
  4. This one looks good, slightly above budget. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201408196716146/sort/atcustom/postcode/e174pp/radius/1501/make/BMW/model/X5/page/1/usedcars
  5. Personally I don't want to spend more than £5k on a 9/10 year car. If I have to go over this amount, my budget is £9k for a 06/07 car, ideally a Lexus. There are couple of private sellers (X5) with FSH on Autotrader. Mileage around 65 to 85k. X5 is my last resort.
  6. I was expecting the running costs to be similar to the RX350. I have seen couple of good X5s on Autotrader with fsh. The 06/07 Lexus (lexi) seem very expensive compare to the 06/07 X5s.
  7. I am now thinking of getting an X5, 06 or 07 year. Any reason why I shouldn't get one?
  8. I never thought about contacting the previous owner. Good idea.
  9. I have been looking for 10 months now -:). Good things come to those who wait. Could not be bothered to go shopping for a car in the rain today. I made few enquiries from ads on Autotrader during the 10 months, you won't believe it how many fakes are out there. They all happened to be currently out of the country on duty and needed me to send them money. Of course, the shipping costs were very good, something like £150!! I will make few more enquiries during the week and hopefully get my car by the end of the week. Cheers
  10. Thanks. My max annual mileage will be around 7k I think. A bit more if we get good summer like this year -:)
