  1. I have no idea if they are interchangeable. but the chap who's doing it is a Lexus specialist and I think he would know. I got this from ClubLexus.com: "Well, those are LS430 radiators. Perhaps the LS430 has a different configuration. I'd recommend sticking to a radiator made for the GS430."
  2. Wee bit of a hic-up. A new rad is needed and it seems nobody manufactures OEM's. A large spoon of sugar is need to swallow the Lexus tax. You do not want to know what they charge for a rad 😞
  3. The first new Merc I bought was in '92. In those days you had to pay for everything, elec windows and seats, even a radio was extra. Mind you that was in the days when MB made cars, now they just make money 😞
  4. Great news indeed, and I expect that steering wheel to be back on the car when it is picked up..... 🙂
  5. Whilst living in the middle of a field does invoke a calm bucolic bliss, I really fo wish Apodemus sylvaticus, to address Mickey in formal nomenclature, would bugger off 🙂
  6. Looks like @rich1068‘s man oop north has delivered the goods. Coolmobile has a shiny new MoT and a few other wee bits. The actual EML issue that two main dealers could not resolve, was basically a dodgy connection around the nox sensor caused br some of rodent friends who share our field. She’ll be back home in few days. 😀😀😀
  7. Who can trust a man who lusts after another man's new wheels......😮 More seriously, I'm confident that the probelem that two sets of main dealers have not been able to resolve will be resolved. When it is, I shall have great pleasure in advising both main dealers what it was they missed. I shall of course let everyone on here know first 🙂
  8. I think there was some confusion which appears now to have been resolved, although it would appear that the original post has also been re-posted.
  9. Is there a Mod that can tell me what's going on here? Yesterday John apologised for above post and deleted it. And today, like Lazarus, it's here again. Several of my posts however are not....
  10. Apology accepted, but really I am at a loss to understand why you would say such a thing. Anyway, matter closed.
  11. Perhaps you will explain your comment to me because I haven't got a clue why you should say such a thing. I left the MB board after many years because of sarky opinionated idiots. I have to say, I have never experienced any such behaviour on this board. So, I'll be grown up, and will wait to see how you justify, what is in my opinion, an extraordinary and unpleasant statement.
  12. UPDATE: Coolmobile, for that is her name, was yesterday rushed by private ambulance to see a specialist. She is currently in intensive care. We await news of her (hopefully) speedy recovery 🙂
  13. Funny story: Some time ago (and I had forgotten this until recently) I bought a new fuel cap from Toyota/Lexus. Dug it out today to see if it would resolve management light issue (possible EVAP issue). A couple of days ago I spoke to the main dealer's twelve year old service-techie about the possible cap issue, after all it is a well known fault. Really, no never heard of that, so not a common fault to this highly trained tech sort. Anyway I digress, hilariously as although the cap won't fit as they sold me a bayonet rather than a screw fitting, it has printed on it: "NOTE: Tighten cap until clicks, or Malfunction Indicator Lamp may come on." You couldn't make it up! Anyway I have a brand new OEM cap, part number 77300-33070 going spare if anyone wants it for postage and an optional fiver to the RNIB. UPDATE: Car's being trailered up north to a specialist next week. I refuse to scrap such a brilliant car without exploring every avenue That's all folks..... 🙂
  14. @rich1068 Good idea, can you pm me his number. Also do you think he would know someone who could do the trailering without breaking the bank? Thanks.

  16. It's looking terminal. Main Dealer (Toyota) have given up and want to trailer it away to Lexus for them to use it as a money tree. Whilst the car has no financial value it's a wonderful old thing and it grieves me that for a stupid light it has to go. I'm waiting to see what Toyota will offer me for it against a new or newish Rav4 hybrid. I'd prefer an RX but the Lexus dealership is just too far away. It's at the end of the A14 which means a minimum of one hour and more like two, it's a horrendous road
  17. Yup, hence my reference in the above post to EVAP and filling up....
  18. It's bloody infuriating, the only thing wrong is the actual damned light. It has been going on and off intermittently for years, and either bridging the pins or filling up (EVAP) has sorted it. It occured to me last evening that the nox and rich readings were first read about six years ago and just re-set as there were no problems whatsoever. The car is excellent, it goes well, and I'm dreading what the Dealer going to say when he eventually calls. They've had it since Monday now. 😞
  19. If it's "only" two hundred then I'll be very happy. But I'm over a barrel, they've got the car and there's no MoT. Ho hum, fingers crossed it'll end well. I really do like the car. Unfortunately there are no Lexus Independants in these parts. I guess the too bloody reliable cars don't break down frequently enough to create enough work for independents 🙂 (not like MB's !!!!!)
