  1. Hi everyone, Not sure if anyone can help but i've got a pre paid service plan which i bought through Lexus, this was sold on to another company a few months ago which i believe is called Insight? Just wondering if anyone has any contact details (Phone or web)? Thanks for the help Brutus.
  2. Ok... REALLY would love some advice on this guys & gals... My alarm has lost the plot... it goes off... whenever... wherever it likes... whether i lock it with the key, the fob, double lock it, lock it while wearing a red sweater.... it even goes off if i don't lock it..!! Lexus garage can't find anything wrong with it... and to be fair they have looked... Lexus GB had nothing other than 'take it into a garage' to offer me... Is there really no way of getting rid of the alarm... or am i stuck with the fact my neighbours are going to hate me till i trade the car in....
  3. Mine is in the cubby hole under where centre console..... behind where the cigarette lighter is.... can't hardly see it and it doesn't get knocked about like if it is in the footwells. Brutus.
  4. Good to know it's nice and simple to not activate the alarm then... Mine is a 00 plate, i've tried the double button press and that seems to disarm the interior part... Not thought of the possiblity of it being set of on purpose so i turn it off.... annoyingly devious that! Brutus
  5. Hi everyone. Just having a few niggles with the alarm (of the going off at 3 in the morning variety..!) I've read on some earlier posts that locking the car with the Key rather than the fob will not activate the alarm... Can anyone confrim this ? Cheers. Brutus.
  6. I agree with that... i'm looking to replace the IS with a.... Golf would you believe it... but when you consider that i can get a top of the range Diesel Golf with over a £1000's worth of extra's... with 3 years warranty AND a comprehensive service pack AND all wear and tear parts covered (Mmm tyres replaced for free..... :D ) ... for less than i'm paying for the Lexus each month... that coupled with the fact i'll save at least £100 a month on fuel... and i'm affraid the IS doesn't stand a chance. Is such a shame cause i love the car, but real life sometimes gets in the car doesn't it!
  7. I must admit it is part lazyness that has stopped me going for the private option.. But looks like i'm not gonna have much of a choice.... Brutus
  8. Well due to constantly rising prices of petrol... time has come to wave goodbye to the Lexus and move onto something with the word 'Diesel' in it's title... :yack: So i've been to a few places and even tried a few places on the net.. and the outcome has been... my car isn't worth anything close to what i would have liked. I've got a 2000 X IS200 Sport in Blue, immaculate inside and out with 60k miles... and the average part ex i've been offered...... £7000...... Surely it must be worth more than that...?? Brutus
  9. And the good news it... its covered..!! so pretty happy actually.... must admit though i'm starting to think buying the extended warranty would be a good idea..! Brutus
  10. I hope so... reason i'm not sure is the woman at the service desk said she'd have to check and that the warranty place had closed for the day... you'd have thought she'd have known the cover levels really...? Brutus
  11. It's an X reg, but i only bought it 9 months ago so it's still under the approved warranty. Brutus
  12. Just had my IS200 in to Lexus Manchester (AGAIN!) and they very politly inform me that i need the master cylinder replacing... Can anyone tell me if this is covered under warranty...? anyone had this done...? Have to say considering these cars are meant to be bullet proof i'm having a worrying amount of problems with mine Brutus
  13. Sounds about right AMH..!! I'm over the shock now! and i guess at the end of the day it's not a massive price to pay for driving such a quality car...! :)
  14. I'm using the spare which is as new... I managed to get him to give us a discount anyway, but i will be going gold in the very near future, as for the service with it being the 60k i was going to go for the service plan as that is only £460 for 2 services. Brutus.
  15. Tyre's are Dunlop sp9000's... What i was getting at with the warranty was more about the fact they told me they were in very good condition when i got it, and only 9 months later they need replacing... Think i'm gonna just have to bit the old bullet on this one.... so happy my 60K service is due in about 1500 miles too...
  16. Hi Everyone.. I've just had a call from the Manchester Service department.. i took it in for a knocking sound on turning / braking at low speeds, and also a squelchy sound from the brake pedel.... they've come back saying i need new pads at the front... and also 3 new tyres into the bargain..!?!?! He qouted £550 at first but i've had him down to £460... but can anyone tell me if this seems ok...? Does it sound like new pads would be needed...? I should point out that i have an x reg is200, which i bought from this garage 9 months ago, so it's still under warrenty... and when i bought it i was told the brakes and tyres were tip top....? Help... advice... ?? Brutus.
  17. Not sure... it's a more of a fluid sound than metalic though
  18. Just pulled into my car park and as I came to a stop I noticed an odd sound from my brake pedal.... I turned the radio up and pressed it a few more times, and there's a squelching noise coming from the pedal! My car is going back in on Friday for a new water pump… so I’ll mention it then… but has anyone else had this or any ideas….? It’s a IS200 Sport X Reg. Cheers
  19. Thanks for the help.... I'll give them a ring.
  20. No, i've had nothing done to it since i picked it up in November.
  21. It can do yes. it almost sounds like the noise is coming from near the drivers footwell?
  22. Hi Everyone, This is my first post so be nice! :D I bought my IS200 sport back in november... and loved every minute since. I drove a Golf previously so you can imagine the difference! Anyway, for the last couple of days i've noticed a sound that i can only describe as rushing liquid when i pull away after idling for a while... i'm assuming it's just the movement of petrol? but is it right for it to be that loud? it's noticable over the volume of the radio? It's an X reg with 50k on the clock... Thanks for the help. :D
