Hi. Sorry if I came across a bit "Victor Meldrew".No slight intended. I'm expecting the garage opener to arrive tomorrow. Can't wait to take it down to the " Man Cave" to remove its transmitter.

Thanks guys. Guess nobody has the answer,so I intend to modify the remote central locking fob by removing the transmitter and replacing it with one that operates on the correct frequency 433.29MHz from a garage door opener.This in theory will give me a remote that will work once I program it to the car.I am assuming that the circuit board is common to all Lexus LS400's and only the frequency on which they operate is different. I will keep you posted if this works or not. Wish me luck

Hi. The key works fine it's the remote for opening and closing the doors.Sorry if I am not making my self clear.

Hi thanks for your replys.Perhaps I didn't make myself clear,I was asking about the remote fob which had the three buttons on the front and the panic button on the back.This is just for remote opening and closing of the doors,and has no key attached. I was also interested to find out if I could alter the circuit board on the American one that I have to transmit on the 4.33Mh by changing the crystal.Im sure that some of the more "expert " among you have experimented with this? Hi Thanks for the feedback. The reason I decided to go for this treatment was that when I bought the car a year ago last September I noticed that it had failed a previous Mot on emissions. It just scraped a pass this time hence the decision. Ed China seemed to think it worked on their BMW.

Treated my LS400 1996 to a Decarbonising Treatment at a local Terra Clean shop (as seen on Wheeler Dealers). Not sure if I sense any change yet,will keep you all posted. Cost was £155 and took about two hours.

Beware buying remotes from E-Bay as most come from US or Canada and work off a different frequency from European models and cannot be reprogramed. UK models work off 433.92MHz.

Hi Cruisermark My car is a LS400 1996 Right Hand Drive built for the UK market. I am hoping Brady from Keyless Entry on the net will come good and send me a replacement

Hi this is my first posting. I bought a remote from a site on the Internet and can't get it to work. I am told that the programming won't work because its from Canada and they operate on a different frequency from the European models. Trying to get the seller to send me a different remote. Anyone had a similar experience?
