  1. Its not working at all on any setting although the direction controls works perfectly as when i hold the ac button and auto then turn ignition on to go into the climate control/ ac diagnostics the cycles go through and i can hear the settings change from feet to dash and window etc. Just no air coming through the vents so blower motor isnt operating. When i checked with a test probe there is no power going to the fan at all even before and after the blower control module and relay have been changed. Im pretty sure now its a wiring problem - possibly something shorted. ive located some wiring diagrams of the engine loom to body loom pinouts etc so will have a browse through these to see if anything relates to this. Also from searching on google some people have had similar issues which ended up being a short in the body ecu - whatever that is? and also something to do with the engine control module. Sounds a little too complicated for me so hopefully the garage can sort this out on monday
  2. Ive replaced the relay, blower control module and even connected a standard ac control unit and still no change whatsoever. Ive removed the blower motor and connected it directly to battery - worked perfectly. I have no idea of what to do next. Ive got the car booked in at a mates garage monday. Would a diagnostics machine point me to the problem?
  3. This isnt an option for me unfortunately as my car has factory optional touch screen navigation unit which controls the whole heating system and stereo/sat nav and the other car is the standard version so no separate climate control unit on mine A quick video link of it to show everything is working fine apart from the blowers not operating no matter what. All buttons work on the touch screen etc and activate the air con - i hear the air con noise kicking in when activated but no air coming through the vents whatsoever. The outside temp button doesn't make any difference also. previously i was able to turn this off and the outside temp wouldnt show up but its permanently showing now. Video:: http://i1277.photobucket.com/albums/y494/a_walker09/th_VID_20151127_205120_zpszrjs9vce.mp4 The pictures are perfectly fine :) Tigerfish/ Rick you seem to have helped me resolve every problem i had with my first black lexus thanks to your knowledge. The images you have posted will defo be of use so will let you know how it goes.
  4. I've just double checked all these fuses with a multimeter just to make sure and no problems with any fuses. Any ideas on the location of the relay? To me it seems like its a relay problem. Im getting mixed answers on google as some people are saying its located above one of the fuse boxes and others are saying its close to the blower system behind the glovebox. Ive removed the pollen filter and the blower fan moves freely by hand so nothing in there stuck to cause it stopping working. I own another lexus gs300 same colour on a t reg for spare parts so replacement parts for this arent a problem if its a worse case situation plus i dont mind a little winter challenge.
  5. Thanks mike :) I couldnt agree with you more. For myself black wheels on silver cars i always hated but after spraying the lower rear bumper around the exhausts, tinted rear lights, indicators, and windows, black badges, upper and lower front grills and putting on a black lip spoiler silver wheels just didnt look right so i went with a gloss black with pink........erm yes pink brake calipers and pink badges on the wheels. Some people may call me crazy but being 25 and driving a big old lexus like this standard just didnt suit me and always got "its your dads car" from everyone. Wheels are soon going to be replaced by 19" deep dish in black with a chrome lip and if split rim then maybe pink bolts also along with black roof. Im now having to settle driving a 1.8 p reg celica until i get the heating sytem sorted thanks to this awful winter we have ahead of us :megaangry:
  6. I havent posted on here in a couple of years since selling my 97 gs300 sport and i have a completely new car since last posting Its a 1999 gs300 navigator. purchased it january this year Weekend whilst working on the car (only changing rear interior light bulbs, i cracked the bulb and blew a couple of fuses which were the dome fuse, and radio. Whilst i blew this fuse the heating was on and engine running etc - my silly mistake. Replaced both these fuses and next thing i notice the blower fan isnt working. Ive checked the 10 amp fuse in the drivers side kick panel (perfectly fine and even replaced) The big red heater fuse under the bonnet - no issues there. The controls on the navi screen are fully functioning and when i press the air con button the condensor makes noise still Any help would be highly appreciated and some information on where to locate all the relays to do with the heating system before i start checking the whole heater fan system Heres also a picture of the new car to share as some of you on here may remember my previous black gs300 sport which i had a lot of advice on from members on here Many thanks
  7. unfortunatly im not in the financial situation at the moment to finish the lexus to how i would want it. ive got my second child on the way at age 23 so im due to be moving yet again to a bigger house with no extra parking space for the GS. Family and work has to come first - dont really wanna see myself ending up on the jeremy kyle show . If it doesnt sell for a decent enough price i will be keeping it - put it in storage at my dads unit till everything is all set up then carry on with it. I wont be leaving this site as im looking for a IS250 SE-L Auto with multimedia package as a replacement/daily driver - i had one as a courtesy car in 2009 when my old prelude was involved in an accident and loved it. For a 2.5 petrol 6 speed auto it was very economical and had a nice amount of power with all the options anyone could wish for. I will definatly keep you all informed on here of how things go. It is a shame to sell it as it was turning out really nice. ive had alot of interest already through ebay just hopefully it if does sell someone who appreciates these cars will purchase it and give it the time and effort im unable to currently give it
  8. another very small progress update indicators and car audio 2 quick videos of the temporary "ghetto" sound system 10" infinity kappa perfect 10" 10" diamond audio m610d2 sony 4 channel amp (only 125w rms to each sub) near enough 4 times underpowered rest is standard including standard head unit which will be staying in all the way ( due to all of my previous cars were broken into outside my house - typical council estate) sound system wont be finished completely for quite a while as my plans keeps changing and theres more and more to add to the list (both subs are only temporary, amp temporary, wiring temporary) just a little something in there now to learn how the factory sound system works and how everything can be improved
  9. if you havent got this sorted yet, these pics might be of some help to you putting the car on axle stands have no idea if they are in the correct place but seems to be fine on the front of the car. been on for nearly a week now
  10. The wheels havent been refurbished yet. The picture of them black with chrome badging on center caps was just a quick photoshop i made to give an idea of what they will turn out like. And the latest pictures with the wheels in silver were last refurbed at least 7 years ago according to the previous owner. The guy who will be doing my wheel refurbs is a close friend who does it in his free time. Does a great job - did the black wheels on another mates e46 convertible(in one of the pics) The lex is now up on axle stands, 2 wheels will be done to pick up mid week so once they are done, i will upload pictures of the finished result - Black with a very light coat of gold metalflake in the laquer so tiny bits of gold will be visible in certian lighting & angles
  11. Looks to be a nice little project. Looking forward to seeing the 2JZ-GTE swap progressing B) Keep up the good work
  12. Thanks guys, its slowly getting somewhere now that the weather has been improving so another minor update last weekend, gave the car a full clean inside and out (first time in at least 3 years!) along with 2 coats of t cut followed by autoglym polish. i was very surprised how it came out turned out like this: bonnet wheel refurbs, still going with the black with gold badges on center caps along with a little coat of ............ started taking a few bits off the car to get resprayed and had a few visitors come along to give me a hand indicators removed, number plate surround for spraying. took an hour just to remove the number plate surround should have some pictures and videos tomorrow uploaded of the sound system and how thats coming along
  13. Another small update: Mot passed on the 8th march - few pics from the garage of the sorted problems Rear lights replaced from a toyota aristo (some slight differences between these and the gs300 ones- no more weak 501 bulbs for tailights therefore no problems with re-tinting these ones) before they were changed (even with very bright LED bulbs) after: Bumper damage temporarily repaired And a little photoshopped picture to show hopefully what the end result should look like Wheel refurbishment should be done within the next 2 weeks & sound system is slowly getting there, all wiring almost complete
  14. Got the car recovered yesterday thanks to my dad and taken a friends garage to fix the fuel leak and get MOT done last picture i thought i would ever get of the car ( was worrying about how bad the fuel leak was going to be so had thoughts on scrapping it 3 mechanics on 1 car... lovely Cause of fuel leak was caused by a small pinhole in the metal fuel pipe (right at the end) along with a split rubber hose which connects to this. Luckily the pinhole in the metal fuel pipe was right at the end where the rubber joins so was very easily fixed. Tigerfish was right yet again :D Picture of the faulty piping (rubber pipe at top & metal fuel line) Today, mot failed. surprisingly it wasnt was bad as i suspected 4 reasons for failure and 6 advisories 1.Rear lenses heavily tinted / less than 50% of light sources illuminating - i expected this so the rear lights will have paint removed then re-done legally 2. off side suspension arm - excessive play in ball joint **dangerous** - another i expected due to cracking noise going over speed bumps when driving the car home from buying it 3. same suspension arm ball joint dust cover damaged 4. off side front steering inner rack end has exessive play in ball joint 2 parts needed are on order for tomorrow so should be on the road. next step is to get the mot advisories sorted, bodywork tidy, possibly new 19" deep dish alloys as i suspect a buckled rim, audio etc to be done also during summer.
  15. leaking fuel pics: moved the car slightly forward to see this: definatly a very strong smell of fuel then looked under the car to see more fuel leaking from this location cant get the car to a garage till saturday unfortunatly
