Hi paul, thanks mate..................as for the connecters!! sorry mate, i can not seem to find them any where, hehe, hi mate, i was all ways going to put a turbo on it from the start, if you ask me theres no point in puting the V8 in the IS if you not going to turbo or SC it as well, as the V8 is only 250BHP on its own, but then saying that the V8 is in alot lighter car now, it should be fun when its done :winky: You are right 250BHP would just not be worth it. Whats the power estimate with the turbo? I would like to think it will be somewhere around the 400 + mark its not about the BHP its the torque the V8 puts out, :winky:

thanks mate, yea the rad will get lots of air, as i have 2 x 10" fan's to fit on the face of the rad.....

well i got round to fitting the custom rad but i had to make a custom mount for it to sit on along with the intercooler, + i got the headers fitted, and the turbo/wastgate just have to get it all tiged up, all so got the down pipe made and on the car. here are some pic,s of the work let me know what you think guys be it good or bad points................its all welcome

well the headers turned up over the weekend, and they are now on the car, i have all so made the pipe work so i can now fit the turbo, and the Xe/wastgate. here is a Pic of the headers....

Hi guys, have not been on here for a long time, as i have not done much to the lex, but in the last week i have just got a set of headers for the V8 on there way from the US, they should be here next week, i will post some pic,s up when i get them, Once i get them i can then get the turbo fitted and all the pipe work for the intercooler :) so its geting there all be it slow,

Hi mate, no its only been 2 years, but like i said before its been hard going as i was out of work for 9 months of them 2 years, + my bro was in ICU for 6 months, so things got put to one side. i have only in the last 2 or 3 weeks started to get some work done on it, but im in no rush, :winky: (just as well lol )

yea i hear what you are saying, :D i just want to open the eyes of some on here who are thinking of doing some work on there IS, and that it dont have to cost 5K to get 90 BHP........if you know what im saying. and like i said befor im on no ones side but my own....:D So Marcus let me get this straight, you want me to put you right on the prices because you don't know how much I paid for each thing...yet you know it all came to around 5.5k.... ...sorry you've confused me a bit there mate! Isn't that one of those double negatives? Anyway, I'm sorry, I must have missed the part where I stated how much it all cost....rest assured readers of this thread, it was no where near 5.5k...I like spending money, but even I would draw a line at that! Just to help you a little bit, I spent 1k on the charger and fitted it myself...so that already puts a massive dent in your estimations doesn't really! ;) Oh and I'm glad to hear you're not on anyone's side, cause neither am I....come to think what sides are you talking about? I wasn't aware there was any! In fact your reply above has confused me a bit again...who do I sound like? You can look up the prices if you like...difference is you don't know what I actually paid for anything...I haven't ever told anyone what I paid. But like I said, and in case you missed it, I didn't spend anywhere near 5.5k for my engine mods! I've already told you what I paid for the charger, so I'll give you another bit of info to help you with your calculations, I didn't pay anything for the manifold! ;) Back when TDi where developing it I agreed to let them test it on my car in returrn for a free one, which they fitted for free as well :o ...pretty cool eh! ;) So taking into account the manifold and the charger we are already easily £1500 under your original estimations! Anyway, I totally agree that you don't need to spend £5500 to get 90bhp from the IS, anyone that does that would be stupid!! It's all about how you approach it really, look out for good deals, be in the right place at the right time, buy parts you want but have them fitted by other people and fit parts yourself even where possible...etc etc. Hi there, i thank you for puting me right i was only going on the price,s what i had seen in the past, but for someone els to go and get them bits you have on your car would cost about 4K to 5K that was the point i was makeing, i just wantted to open some eyes on here that you dont have to do 4 or 5K to get good power out the IS, Thats right matt its the Torque every one should be trying get more of at the right RPM , as that is what wins at the end of the day, and thats why i went with the V8,

Im just saying bazza, i would want abit more for my cash, than just 90 BHP, if you can remember back to when i put the Turbo on my IS and the 1st week i put it on rolling road, can you remember what the BHP was ?? i still have the slip if any one would like to see it, the only down side when i 1st fitted the turbo i did not do the fueling at the same time, + i never got round to geting it maped...... can you also remember how much my setup cost ?

well i got some work done on the car last weekend, i fitted the Rad and the intercooler, i had the bits sitting there for some time but just did not have the time to work on the car, had to make up custom mounts for the Rad and intercooler, will try and post up some pic,s soon so all can see what work went into makeing the mounts, and where the Rad sits in its new place, :)

TTE Supercharger TDi uprated Intercooler TDi maifold CamCon Uprated Injectors HKS FCON VPro HKS HiPower Silent back box Hi mate long time no see, i have only been back on LOC for about 2 months now,:) i dont know how much the bits cost.....so please put me right TTE SC ....cost about 2K TDI intercooler about 400 i think TDI manifold about 700 i think camcon about 200 if not more Up injectors about 600 i think HKS Fcon Vpro about 1200 i think HKS HSBB about 300 i think please put me right on the prices, if im over or under thats 5.4K with out the cost for them to do the work, so you are happy paying 5.4K + there 70 to 80 an hour to fit, for only 90 BHP ;) Just like to say this, its not down to me or any one els what you do with your cash, i myself just think TDI ask way over the top for items they sell, and work they do, and like rob has said......when TDI 1st came on LOC all they could see was £££ as no one on this site knew any better, and alot had got work done by them thinking at the time it was the right thing to do. i would like to point out im not on any ones side but my own, i took my IS to have some work done once to someone and when the work was done they bent me over for more cash than they said it would cost..... and this is why im doing all the work on my IS now + so if it f**s up when its put back on the road i only have myself to kick, , yea it has taken me 2 years from when i started it, but i have had alot going on in them 2 years , been out of work for 9 months my Bro was in ICU for 6 months and so on. Marcus the is200 box wouldnt fit the V8 actually the is200 gearbox can handle it, the gearbox is also used in the Honda s2000 and the nissan s14a and s15, and some others but your right, id be utterly amazed if its done in 3 weeks but again i say, i wish you luck and hope they manage to get it done.... Mat :) no 5 or 6 speed gearbox fits the V8 with out alot of work to the said gearbox, and with that said i could of used the IS box, but like i said i dont think its up to the job in hand, "ie" 400BHP + and if this guy is going to put the same engine as you have! in his IS i would not try and use the IS box!! would you ?? Hope it all go,s well for you mate, keep us posted on how the swap gets on :D

Hi there, hmmm, you say they have never done one before but then they tell you its only going to take 3 weeks.................IS gearbox is not up to it, or i would of used my IS box for my V8 setup. as to cost well, hope your bank manager likes you :winky: But keep us posted on how it go,s If it's TDI then please just read the other threads and dont waste your money ;) Having said that Sams one isnt working at the moment either, so i suppose you have to take a gamble either way going down these sort of routes.. You mention the Pro-Lex SC is this the Lysom one they haven't managed to do yet on the other chaps car from France? Buy a Supra would be the cheapest option No it is a small company over near B'ham. I think there is a lot of guess work on their behalf as they have never done this conversion before, this is what is worrrying me a little, they say 3 weeks for the fit? TDI arn't getting hold of my hard earnt until............. well lets not be rude now!! Although they offered to de-cat and fit the Cancom for 1K :shutit: The standard ECU to be used to keep cost down, its just the gearbox that worries me a lot. It is a great idea but there is something at the back of my mind that sais "this won't work as easyly as it sounds" as it is my daily ride i don't want to be keeping the AA man in business. Mybe Pro-Lex need another test car? had the Lysham been done then I would just hand over the £'s and job done, but the 1st one was away for a long time and still didn't work, but thats prototyping for you!! I appreciate the vast knowledge available here so thats why I am running the ideas past you guys. This is no way near a done deal just the latest mad idea to cross my mind I don't want to go down Ells route i.e. a complete strip down and rebuild!! Ahhhh its a headache so many options!!

the guy has let me down, he PM,ed me over the weekend and said he would be keeping the setup he has now. so the items i was geting of him are not for sale now :tsktsk: get Xmas out the way and start looking for a new setup....
