  1. Panic over! I figured it out. Theres 3 visible screws, 2 on the door side of the dash underneath the removable flap, 1 under the jamb of the glovebox door and finally the last screw is hidden under the leather strip covering the side of the centre console which can be accessed by removing the top panel where the gearshifter is situated and removing the 1 screw holding the leather strip in place. Handy enough.
  2. Ok, turns out I was wrong again about the location of the BCM. It is in fact behind the glovebox and not the steering column as previously posted by me. Anyways, I installed the brand new second hand BCM and straight away my wipers worked. The part numbers weren't an exact match but the newer one worked nonetheless. Thanks again for the info, Steve.
  3. My bad, Steve. You were spot on. I was looking on the wrong side of the car. Its just behind the steering column for future reference. Thanks for the help, much appreciated.
  4. Hmmm... Strange. Perhaps I'm looking at the wrong part? The number I have for what I think is The BCM on the 2005 mk3 is 82730-30281? Its an off white box behind the glovebox with roughly 8 connectors...
  5. I posted up here recently about a BCM problem with my GS300. I've found the same car (different year) in a dismantlers with its BCM intact and the part numbers differ only slightly (last digit is 1 on mine and 2 on breakers.) So I'm wondering, is it compatible with my car? Is the last digit an indicator of a production line date or is it a little more specific. Would it have any adverse effect on my car if I were to install it? Thoughts please..
  6. Hi all, Anyone know how to remove the glovebox on the Mk3? I had an attempt at removing it today, I removed the 3 screws on the top and left hand side and removed the 2 x 10mm bolts on the underneath but there seems to be something on the CD player side stopping the glovebox from coming away from the frame completely. Do I have to remove the trim around the centre console and the radio to get access to this area? Any info would be much appreciated.
  7. I've tried searching online for one to no avail. The usual auto manual suppliers like Haynes, Bentley etc. don't do a version for the MK3 as far as I can see. Anyone know where I could get one?
  8. You can try and change the battery in the sensor. I know a lad who did it with some success.
  9. I had a damaged valve on my GS which caused the tyre pressure warning light to come on. I just replaced the damaged TPMS valve with a normal valve. The warning light stays on but at least the tyre pressure is ok, that light is a real nuisance, must get it repaired. I know a guy who had a dead battery in one of his tyre sensors. He opened the sensor and cut the battery out of the surrounding silicone with a razor blade and just replaced it with an identical (5 euro) battery, superglued the casing back and voila! it worked again. Saved himself a few quid in replacing and reprogramming the sensor.
  10. I remember the time I got caught out with that one. I couldn't open the boot for a week until I met a friend with a GS and informed him of my problem. He just opened the glovebox and pressed the switch and then laughed. That pesky button in the glovebox, It's like an initiation ritual for the GS.
  11. I feel your pain. My Gs has been keyed and just last week 2 tyres slashed. So annoying not to mention costly. As for the police I wouldnt waste the time ringing them over vandalism as thats way down the bottom of their list of priorities.
  12. Anyone on here had any problems with their wipers? 2 weeks ago my wipers started acting up. They would work if I messed around with the switch so I brought the car to a local auto sparks. He had a look at the car and hooked it up to a scanner but got no fault codes from the car, so he reckoned it was a faulty switch. So I ordered a new switch (115 euro) and fitted it to no avail, So he recommended I bring it to lexus and get them to run a diagnostic test on the car. I brought the car to my local lexus dealer and they performed a diagnostic test and the results of the test are pointing towards an issue with the body computer. The technician reckons I need a new bcm at a cost of 900 euro for the part. What I'm wondering is, Is this a common issue with the GS300 MKIII.? And is it possible to fix a component of the bcm without replacing the whole unit. Thanks in advance.
