  1. Hi all. I've noticed a slight tapping noise which appears to be coming from the bottom of the engine on my GS430 while the car is idling. I cant hear it once some revs are applied. It is most noticable when I'm listening just behind the n/s/f wheel. While not excessively loud it is quite audible and I'm a bit worried as to what it could be.It will tap away for about 10 seconds, stop tapping for 2-3 seconds and then the cycle starts again. The car has been religiously serviced at the correct intervals by Lexus and its not long had a full service. The noise is there whether the car is hot or cold and the noise level never varies whether the cars hot or cold. I've checked the oil level and inspected the oil filler cap. Oil level is bang on and its spotless inside the oil filling area. The car drives fine, no warning lights on etc. Smooth and powerful as ever. Has anybody come across this before or does anybody have any idea as to what it may be? Thanks in advance, Jim.
  2. Hi all newbie here. I've recently bought a 2004 GS430 SE. The car has just turned 100k and has a full Lexus dealer history. The car drives perfectly but I am wondering about doing an automatic transmission fluid change. The gearbox is smooth as butter but I cant see anything in the history to say it has been changed. Am I best to change it or leave it as is? Any replies would be greatly appreciated. I want the car to be spot on as I'm disabled and its my only way of getting around. Its just had a full service, ngk plugs, fuel filter, engine oil changed, k&n panel filter, new timing belt and water pump, new discs and pads all round, new tyres, cat back performance stainless steel exhaust and some paintwork rectification to get the car looking spot on and the alloys refurbed. As you can see I want the car to be perfect so I'm hoping for some advice from those more informed on the GS430 than myself.
