  1. Hi Eric I wonder whether you have seen my message posted last Friday? If you are interested in possibly buying my almost new coilovers please give me a ring on 01384 350465 and we can have a chat about them. I am willing to negotiate a price that hopefully will be acceptable to us both. Look forward to hearing from you. Godfrey
  2. Hi Eric I have a complete set of hardly used coilovers which were fitted to my 2004 RX300 SE. (together with fitting instructions) They have been used for a couple of weeks and then there was a major fault with the gearbox and I had to let the car go, but not before I had the coilovers removed. They were supplied by PB Coilovers from Taiwan and cost £789 plus import duty. If you would like to buy them I have them here in Kingswinford. Perhaps you would like to email me:- dingley-jones@blueyonder.co.uk to chat about them. They are in individual boxes and are quite heavy so collection would perhaps be better than posting. I am sure we could negotiate a price satisfactory to us both. I look forward to hearing from you. Godfrey
  3. Hi, Thanks for your input. I have now emailed the local Lexus Dealer asking questions, also incorporating the points you raised. When I first purchased the car in 2016 my garage, who look after my other cars, advised me of 'more than the normal' amount rust around and behind the front suspension and suggested that the car had been in some water at some stage, for example driving regularly through a ford or a flood. Of course I have no knowledge of this and have since had the car professionally waxoiled. I will keep you advised of progress
  4. Hi

    Thanks for your interest.

    Best wishes

  5. Hi My air suspension on my RX300 seems extremely hard and the car seems higher than normal. I took the car to a Lexus dealer today for a diagnostic test on the suspension. They have advised me that the two front shock absorbers are 'solid' and do not move and the rear ones are moving perhaps 40% of what they should. The have quoted me more than the car is worth to replace all the shock absorbers. The front nearside suspension leg was replaced about 2 year ago and I find it hard to believe that has 'failed.' The offside rear height control sensor was replaced in November 2018. Has anyone experienced this problem before and is the diagnosis plausible? The car is 2004/5 and has covered 102k miles. Is anyone aware of any garage in the West Midlands which has the Toyota/Lexus diagnostic equipment to set up the suspension heights etc? Any help appreciated. Thanks Godfrey
  6. Hi Jon I wonder, was the ride harder or softer after you fitted the coilovers? Look forward to hearing from you. Godfrey
  7. Hi Craig Regrettably a similar thing I believe has happened to my 'height sensor' at the offside rear. The car is now about 1 foot higher at the offside rear than the rest of the vehicle. The car is now at my local garage to establish what is wrong. In your article your photos show photos from a Workshop Manual and I note that you obtained if from eBay. I should be most grateful if you could give me the exact title of the Workshop Manual and the publishers, together with the IS number if available to enable me to track one down. The manual I have does not cover the air suspension. I look forward to hearing from you and thank you in advance for any assistance you can give Best wishes Godfrey
  8. Hi I note in this post that there appears to be 'one guy in the UK that actually rebuilds these devices for around £120.00 but this includes new internal seals and refilling' Does anyone know who he is and where I can get in touch with him please? My 1998 GS300 makes unusual noises from around that area which I would describe as almost like the air brakes on a lorry when the pressure is released, or like the noise of servo brakes. It appears as though a tank is filling up with air and then it switching off. The brakes do not appear to be affected. Any ideas and the rebuild man's details would be appreciated. Thanks Godfrey
