  1. I had the same problem was told it was not covered by warranty, car was 4 years old, 50,000 miles at that point. The paint around the grill had a number of rust spots and the front bumper was peppered with stone chips.
  2. I own an RX450 which so far only towed a caravan 120 miles, towed with no problems.Found it very similar to my RX450, only difference was the air suspension. Was there something specific you needed to know?
  3. UPDATE Now having having problems with said company, I will advise you all of the outcome. For the present time I will not be refering anyone to them and suggest to others hangfire.
  4. The boards currently advertised being able to fit 450's do not. The boards need different brackets to be made. After spending some time on trying to make them fit I took my car to the suppliers. Where they made a set of brackets for them to fit, though they are too recessed and sit under the doors. I am awaiting a set of spacers to make them extend out and do the job they were bought for. Not really a fan of running boards but have to say they look good and are very useful for standing on for washing the roof of my 450. The supplying company have being really good at trying to rectify the problem and would recommend them to anyone. Have sent PM to RickJ on the supplying company and will give their details to anyone who wants them.
  5. Has anyone fitted running boards to an RX450? I have bought some Winbo boards which are advertised as fitting 400's and 450's.The supplying company say they should fit but their photographs are taken from an RX400. Which looks totally different underneath to my RX450, I cannot see them fitting. This is my third RX having owned a 300, 400 and now 450. I fitted running boards to my 400 without any problems. They did help to stop the very annoying door dents in my 400. If anyone has advice it would be much appreciated.
  6. Looking to buy a RX450h

  7. Just been outside to the car and pressed the switch in the glove box and afterwards the tailgate went bleep bleep. Excellent I guess that someone has been fiddling it . Many many thanks Colin this has saved a visit to the dealer.
  8. Hi I have a RX400 and the tailgate which will no longer open and close by the remote control or the switch on the tailgate. I have checked the fuses, not that I am sure which one it is. When you shut the boot by manual means you can hear the motor/relay making that short whirring noise. Has anybody any ideas? Regards Mark
  9. I was quoted in the region of 800.00 for a Lexus fitted towbar.I had mine fitted by Towsure at a fraction of the price as mine was the first they had fitted.Only cost 100 pounds would think it be about 400 pounds normally. They also did a superb job.
  10. I have RX300 MK2, I have had a towsure bar fitted to my Lexus.I rung my local Lexus dealer who wanted over £700 to fit one.Made many phone calls to various fitters and all said they could not fit one to my vehicle. This was in April of this year, one of the fitters called Towsure to find out about a towbars fot the RX. Towsure was looking for a donor vehicle, only problem they are Sheffield some 200 miles away, but they would fit one for £100.00.They made a superb job of it though it took all day for them to fit it.I have towed with my Lexus and it handles well if not better than my Grand Cherokee and Discovery. I would suggest contacting Towsure in Sheffield as they said it would only be a couple of months before the bar became available.Though it will cost a bit more than a £100.00, I was the first MK2 RX owner to have a non lexus bar fitted. 11. Hi I have a new RX300 SEL bought in Dec 03 and only done 2600 miles.I recently noticed it was a rough ride on the rear passengers side.On inspecting the the vehicle, I noticed one side was approximately 40mm down.I checked with the supplying dealer and was told too busy do look at vehicle before Easter. This was on Wednesday, my problem was that I was due to tow our long caravan on Saturday. The service department said it be no problem towing!!!!. On checking with Lexus GB they arranged for me to take into Lexus Hadleigh for an inspection. They were very helpful and confirmed there was a problem and no way to tow a caravan. They think one of the sensors has gone and is not working. Has anyone esle had this problem? Now instead of taking our nice new and shiny caravan out, we are going to Pontins(great).Unless anyone has 4 spare seats on a plane to anywhere hot. Regards Mark Still a superb car and beats my old Grand Cherokkee hands down
