  1. Happy Birthday damtrx!

  2. No abs light on the dash. I mean that when you press hard the brake pedal and the wheels are blocked the ABS is trying to prevent it . In my situation two of the wheels stays blocked for a longer period and the car pulls on the right like a drift . But I don't think it is the same problem as yours. More sound like a bad geometry or bad suspension. The first time that I had this problem it was from the bended lower arm http://lexus.solar3.eu/rm/rm684e/m_sa_0031.pdf The second time was lower ball joint http://lexus.solar3.eu/rm/rm684e/m_sa_0037.pdf edit: In the past 12 months I did 4 times a geometry :)
  3. I had this kind of a problem when my front lower suspension arm was bended after a small collision. I changed both lower arms and did a front and rear wheel alignment and now it's fine.My car geometry was messed up and when I press the pedal my car goes left and my steering wheel turns too . The symptoms were all the same as yours. Now I have a different problem with my ABS pump and my car goes right when I activate the ABS System. If your car goes right with ABS activated you maybe have the same problem as mine.
  4. Well today the mechanics from my local Toyota did the diagnostics of the ABS Actuator and all of the braking system. It seems that the front right and rear right solenoids that control the brake liquid stayed open for a longer period compared to the other side. The brake system stops the right wheels harder than the left so my car goes right . The period is only 0.6sec . They tried with different ABS ECU but with the same results. They are almost 100% sure that the pump is failing so I guess that I'm looking for another one. The new one is 1250 Euro so I guess that I will buy second hand from ebay. (they are some for 15-30 pounds that is way cheaper ) I will post what happened after the pump is changed edit: Problem solved. Some idiot had changed brake lines . After we correct them ABS system works perfect
  5. I found another garage that have the Toyota SST hand held device that can perform all the test and we will see what is the problem after Friday . If i have problem with weight distribution my car should be move sideways on every stop not only when ABS is activated on dry road.
  6. @Kentl300 - My mechanics told me that these calipers are cleaned and looks good. They told me that the problem should be with the pump http://lexus.solar3.eu/rm/rm684e/m_br_0049.pdf They told me that the front disks are very worn-out and must be replaced with the brake pads. So I guess that maybe you are right somehow. This is the test instruction for the pump and stuff so I will try to figure it out how to perform these test http://lexus.solar3.eu/rm/rm684e/m_br_0045.pdf
  7. @steve - ABS should not make the car spins. In my situation when I press the brake pedal with ABS activated (extreme stopping) the car tries to make an 90 degree turn. Imagine this with a 100Mph (160km/h) that happened to me few weeks ago. For me this is extremely important to work because in my country because after a month everything will be in snow or ice. I know how to test and I know that it depends on the road conditions but on a clean road that looks almost straight the symptoms are the same. Left or right turn depends how the stars are aligned :) (random situations ) Sometimes the car goes left or right , or sometimes the rear end of the car tries to move in front almost like a drift
  8. Thanks for the answer but what is EBD :)I found that if the pressure in the pipes drop ABS system will not work correct.I read the service manual and found that there is a pretty good diagnostic way for this problem. So i think that i have to find another garage in my country/location And the other thing that i found for now is when someone mess with the pipes and ABS actuator.
  9. Hi to all Recently I notice a serious problem with my ABS system on my IS200 manual When I press the brake gently the car stops in a straight line. No vibration on the steering wheel or moving on the sides of the road. When I press the brake pedal hard to activate the ABS System my car starts to spinning . The pedal is "pumping" my foot telling me that the ABS should work , but the car is not performing like it should be . I went to my local garage and told them for my problem. They checked everything on the car and confirm that the ABS sensors work fine. After a few days of tests they can't tell me what is the real problem. There are no lights on the dash , no error codes on the ECU or something. My mechanics told me that the ABS pump is failing or the ABS ECU but they can't confirm what cause the problem. Any ideas or people with the same problem ?
  10. Yesterday I've got my OBD II back and did some diagnostics . TPS Sensor shows 12,9 % and it should be around 15% with a deviation of 0.8 % . MAP Sensor shows 32kPa but I think that should be much higher based on my location. I did the tests on is200 automatic and TPS sensor shows 14,9 and MAP sensor is around 41kPa . As soon as I get my tools back , I will try to fix TPS sensor and clean/change MAP . I think that MAP sensor can't calculate atmospheric pressure right and "tells" the car to pump more fuel.
  11. Hi guys, today I hit the bottom with 11 mpg . I'm desperate right now.
  12. If cleaning your throttle body doesn't help, I'd have a serious look at what sjrainsford suggested above - binding brake calipers. These are known issues on the IS200 and can definitely have an adverse effect on fuel economy. have you checked the brakes? Well , they are seems to be fine . I did change the tires last week and nobody told me for that problem. I can push the car easy so I think that is not the brakes.
  13. Well today I cleaned the throttle body. (sorry for the delay but had to do tons of work these months ) There is no change in the MPG . I did the procedure because my car was a bit sluggish and the acceleration was not good . The car seems to be a little slow and when I climb some hill it's not accelerating like before. - Actually it's not accelerating and keep the speed only. Like my old 25 year Opel with 1.3l engine :) Before and after the procedure it's the same slow car. Cleaning did not resolve any problems. There are still no error codes from the ECU . Is there any chance that the Vacuum sensor is the problem ? I'm stuck on that problem for a very long time.
  14. Firt i wil clean throttle body. This is the only element that i didn't touch since i bought the car.
  15. Well i bought mine not because of the fuel consumption.I know that MPG (l/km) will be high but my is far more compared to others. That is why start the threan No matter how drive i get very high consumption.20l/100 is normal Subaro impresa STI 240hp turbo car.Well is200 is not even turbo. Edit.I am sorry but MPG to l/km conversation is hard for me.High l/km is low MPG
