  1. I dont think the CD was physically stuck, it was more like the system couldn't read it & so didn't seem to want to eject it. It was a branded (Memorex) CDR & had no label on - maybe it just had some bad sectors or something. Serves me right for trying to be a smarty pants & certainly the last time I ever try a copy CD in the Sat Nav! Thanks again Geoff :D
  2. SUCCESS!! Out of deperation I took the unit out, dismantled it & gently prized out the CD. It got the use of my Radio & Climate Control back so I then tried inserting the new SAT NAV CD & it works! Life is Good & it's a very happy Birthday again! Thanks for your help Geoff
  3. Thanks for the responses. I have tried both removing the battery & the leads to the SAT NAV, both without success. If only there was an emergency eject button - I feel sure I could get it to work if I had the chance to put the original CD back in. This is sounding more & more like a whoppingly expensive repair, but I feel it very unfair - so much of the cars system shouldn't depend on your SAT NAV disc! Anyone know of another way to get the copy disc out? I'd be very grateful for any help. Many thanks Geoff
  4. Hi, It's my Birthday today & I received a brand new Lexus Sat Nav CD (V3.7) for my 1999 Lexus LS400 (Costing a scandalous £155 apparently) as a present. In my infinite wisdom I made a backup copy of the CD & tried it to see if it worked. Now when I Power up I get the Lexus GSM Sat Nav welcome screen & nothing else. None of the other buttons will function either so I cant use the radio or climate controls! The CD is unresponsive & refuses to eject. IS there another way to eject the CD? Or is there a system reset that can be performed? I'm desperate & feel bloody stupid for trying a copy CD, but I didn't think for one second that the result would be so catastrophic! Not the start I wanted to my Birthday, please please help. Thanks Geoff
  5. Thanks Greve That's very helpful indeed :) It's isn't an imported car, so the Dual SIM idea sounds like a good one to me. I'm with Orange, so I hope it will be available with them (fingers crossed). :zee: if I can find where the SIM slot is for the phone system in the LS, then I'll be ready to rock! Geoff
  6. No answer so far :( 53 readers suggest I'm not the only one looking for the answer - Please help if you can. thanks Geoff
  7. Hi, I want to start using the inbuilt Lexus phone in my 1993 LS400 instead of my mobile phone. Is it possible to take the SIM from my mobile & put it into the car phone? If so, where is the SIM card slot located in the Lexus? With the new UK laws on using mobiles, this is really important. Any help gratefully received Thanks in advance Geoff
