  1. Whilst one or two on this page may own an RX450h there is a seperate Forum page for the RX. (This page has been slightly mistitled to say "Lexus 450h" instead of "Lexus GS 450h"). You may get more replies, and faster, over on that page. Good luck with your enquiries.
  2. I have only done around 4,000 miles. i will have to contact my local dealer ready for the next time I am passing. Thanks
  3. The moment my 2018 GS reached 20,000 mile I got a message on the small screen on the dashboard saying "Oil Maintenance Required" and now every time I turn the vehicle on I get the same message on the screen. I have only had the vehicle nine months and the service book confirms that it was serviced before I picked it up from the Lexus dealer. I have gone into the big screen and Settings / Vehicle / Maintenance and put in a "reminder" date and mileage for later than when the next service is due for both "Oil" and "Service" but still I get the message on startup. How do I remove it, as the car is telling me more than enough each time I turn it on? Thanks in advance. Mike
  4. Having just returned from a 1,000 mile round trip from Gloucester to Scotland, including the lumpy bits, in my 2018 GS300h Luxury I was impressed to average over 50mpg for the trip. Even going 1 mile down the road and back for the weekly shop I am getting 30mpg, even after a cold start. I do tend to use Eco though, rather than the other two modes.
  5. If you are looking for a "fair bit of poke" then you may wish to take a look at the GS450h as well, as they have enormous poke and there is probably more of those to choose from, and its a hybrid (I don't think the GS 300's became hybrid until 2012) If you are looking for DAB radio then these became standard on the 2010 facelift for the GS450h. I don't know about the GS300. Hopefully someone else can help with your other queries. Mike
  6. Yes, once home we tried a selection of tins before finding that an old Tate & Lyle treacle tin did the job perfectly. Thanks for all the replies.
  7. The reason that one of the keys was in the boot was that we had just travelled 180 miles to collect the car from the dealer and as we have family in the area we were also visiting them for a few days. There is no general desire to be locking the keys in the boot it was simply that which alerted me to the fact that the faraday pouches were suddenly not working. I am now looking for an effective tin box to store the keys in whilst at home.
  8. Having just traded my 11 plate GS450h for an 18 plate GS300h I have noticed an issue with locking. The faraday cages that worked so well at blocking the signal from the key to the car now have no effect, even to the point where the car would not lock whilst a key was in a faraday cage, in a suitcase, in the boot. Having tried two different keys in two different faraday pouches, the car ignored the pouches. Any ideas or suggestions? ps, it is nice having a much larger boot.
  9. I made similar enquires some years ago when I was in the same position, though I didn't actually get one. I remember talking to someone in Malvern who could do it, though I cannot remember the price.
  10. Another way to bring down the cost of a Lexus service is to become a Gold member of this site, saving 15% on all Lexus costs, or around £94 on a major service alone.
  11. Oh the button is there, it is just hard to find. You might need to get on your hands and knees with a mirror to find it.
  12. Thanks for your review, I will be looking to go from en 3 to Gen 4 in the next year and I can now do it without any worries.
  13. Thanks for that, exactly what I was looking for and it answers my questions.
  14. It is time to start looking for my next GS and I am thinking of a 2016 (onwards) GS 300h. I am aware of the specs for the Luxury and Premium variants, but what am I losing if I go for the Executive? I have tried looking for a 2016 UK brochure online, that might help, without any luck. If anyone can point me to one that would be appreciated.
  15. When I was a young Police Officer I was told that there are two things that you can't tell a man, a) His wife is ugly, and b) He is a bad driver
  16. " I wonder what the Government will do to make up the shortfall in speeding fines though? " I guess they are hoping that a drop in fatal accidents, with their cost to emergency services and the economy will make up the shortfall
  17. Albeit a later model, my audio developed a fault last year and was luckily replaced under warranty. I was told that the new unit cost something like £3k, so if the one on eBay is the right one for you then it looks like a bargain.
  18. Certainly let us know how you get on and any differences between your current and new car, as this is a move that I will be making in the next year or so.
  19. Though I don't have PCS, I thought the radar sensor was located behind the front Lexus badge. I have no idea what this might be.
  20. I might be wrong, but do Lexus do an Extended Warranty on the LS? The last time I looked at the prices they were not quoting a price for the LS. I assumed that if you can afford to run an LS you can afford whatever costs it throws at you. Returning back to topic, I will be looking to change my GS450 in 2-3 years and am resigned to getting a late 450 or maybe even a GS300 as the 450's are mighty rare.
  21. I remember mention a while back that Hybrids should not be jump started as it can cause electrical issues soon afterwards. Could that have been the cause in this case?
  22. I recently had my 7 year old GS re-gassed. By the time we got into the warm weather it was struggling badly and failing to cool the car. Performance had tailed off over a while, so I guessed that it was not a catastrophic failure. I had it done by my dealer who checked and confirmed no leaks and he also mentioned about keeping it on full time to protect seals. It is marvellous now, so quiet in this weather.
  23. I doubt that it is the button in the glove box. I had an issue last week where the only way to open the boot was with the key but it was locking fine. I felt a right fool phoning Lexus for them to suggest that I press the button in the glove box. This issue seems different, as if the self closing thing isn't working
  24. I haven't driven the car myself for a while (2011 GS450h) but my wife has reported that when she goes around a corner, the audio goes off, the screen shows "Audio Off" and she has to turn it back on again. Has anyone experienced anything similar and does anyone know whether the warranty will cover fixing it? Thanks
  25. Apparently not, as I have requested this myself of the dealer, both on my previous car, a 55 plate GS and my current one an 11 plate GS. It seems that it is only an option on the mk4 (2012 onwards). I have heard of kits that people have bought that can do it and perhaps someone has a price for one of those.
