  1. Thanks for that colin, I didn't drive far! The slightly odd thing about the history is it's been maintained by Lexus in Glasgow and is a ex fleet car, I would have expected them to spot something like this. It was last serviced by them in July 2016 and has since only done 3000 miles (but 118K total in 4 years). I suspect most of the last 6 months it's been sat a pound somewhere. I did call Lexus and they verified the car and its record but I couldn't speak to the service department. The vin matches the log book, hpi came back clear etc, etc. Like I say everything else looks really straight, but the wheel is obviously out of line and noticeable looking down the length of the car.
  2. I've just test drove a CT with a view to buying it. On inspection the rear left wheel is noticeably misaligned a good couple of degrees off square, the inside 30mm of tyre is also heavily worn suggesting something has gone that's affecting the camber of the wheel. I jacked it up and the bearing feel solid, no play or movement in the wheel. Any thoughts as to what the most likely cause(s) are and the likely repair cost would be very welcome. It was the only issue that stopped me buying there and then, so held off until i've got better feel for whats going on.
  3. This exact same thing has just happened to my back box. I've ordered a standard replacement for £64 through ebay, delivery due tomorrow. I'm going to attempt swapping it myself but wanted to know if there is a gasket between the back and mid sections or is there some kind of gunk or paste I need before I get started? I will find out for sure tomorrow, but I also wondered if anyone knows what size the 2 bolts are that i'm bound to shear when removing it (along with skin off my knuckles i'm sure!).
  4. I'd like to see what tyres people would recommend for my sport cross. MOT is due next week and I know should be replacing all 4 corners. I do a lot of motorway miles daily in all weathers and i'm not afraid to carry heavy loads. I'm generally drawn towards Avons as a brand, I run them on my bike.
  5. That was the case but I noticed it and swapped them back round. If they are different widths should i be fitting 225 on the rear and 215 on the front or would 215 all the way round still be ok.
  6. I discovered this on my Sportcross recently. When i bought it, it came with a spare set of alloys. I decided to put the silver set on after a puncture. Having done the job, when I tried to pull away, to my dismay there was grinding sound coming from one of the front wheels. Anyway to cut a long story short I discovered my front wheels have an extra recess on the inner rim that allows it to clear part of the suspension. Checking my other set of alloys i found the same thing. Could anyone confirm is this normal? if so, why not make them all the same? Main reason for asking is i am about to invest in a complete set of new tyres was going to fit Kumho Ecsta Le Sport KU39 - 215/45 R17 Y (91) all round. Would appreciate any opinions, comments or other recommendations, but please bear in mind I'm on a sub £100 a corner budget.
  7. Thanks, at least I know what i'm looking for. I'm pretty local to Gaydon i'll come and have look round next weekend.
  8. Hi, Just purchased my second IS, had to sell my first when baby 4 arrived and had to be sensible! Anyway, the tail lights are cracked and need replacing. I would be interested to know if the units on the estate are the same as fitted on the saloons. Can anyone help?
