  1. Thanks Jamie that was an interesting write up. It's nice to hear what different manufacturers feel differs them from their competitors as from a consumer's point of view there is quite often little to call between them, particularly amongst premium brands.
  2. I'm a firm believer in using quality tyres, I always have been for some time now and I always buy premium brands for my cars now. You buy cheap, you buy twice I always say! :D Anyway, I was interested to get your honest opinion as to why I should go for a Michelin over the other main premium brands i.e. what sets apart Michelin in particular? Don't get me wrong, I've had Michelin before and always got on well with them but I was just interested in the main selling points over other premium brands. It's easy to see the difference over mid range and budget tyres etc but sometimes it's hard to differentiate between the top brands aside from trying them all for a few thousand miles!
  3. Can't believe you've actually had to change a bulb and she's not even 21 yet. Talk about poor build quality.... :P
  4. I purchased one second hand off eBay and the other brand new. Paid total of £629 for the pair and sold my old pair for £300. The new one cost me £495. I am absolutely in love with those headlights and they are not as expensive as I thought they would be! I had a Yamaha R1 2009 motorbike a few months ago, and the headlights for that is £1350 + VAT - FOR A MOTORBIKE!!! I was expecting Lexus to be charging about 1.2k for each headlight especially from the new shape. Once I get my money up, that is definetely something I'll be looking to do as I'm obsessed with DRLs, but if I do it I want the real deal not the cheap LED strips from halfords lol...anyway - well done bro the car looks ill. Hope to see it in person at some stage
  5. I saw a thread somewhere where you guys compare your MPG's (sorry can't find it), and I recall you saying you reach high 20s in town average...my question is HOW? lol... I drive smooth and am not heavy with the right foot, but I get 21-23 around town at the moment, I once got it up to 25 by driving at 20mph like a granny!

    Hi

    Thanks guys! :)
  7. Just got told that this noise along with the jar of marbles noise on the is250 are perfectly normal as long as not too loud. That's it, will close this in my mind at the moment :)
  8. Hey normski, just had a quick think about the release bearing... Shouldn't that sound wrong when the clutch is pressed down and not when it's released as that's when it spins and when pressure is applied to it? Wouldn't it be the input shaft bearing noise that disappears when the clutch is pressed? Also, I have attached a video of my noise. Might need headphones turned up to full volume to hear it properly. Let me know your thoughts http://youtu.be/G39mg9lh-8Q
  9. Wow ... that's all I can say. By the way, the headlights look awesome, if it is not a secret, how much can they be picked up for with the DRLs?
  10. Hello all, My 2006 IS250 annoyingly doesn't come with HIDs! But...I really want them :) I want the 4300k OEM look, am I OK to just purchase a kit off e-Bay and do a DIY install? Am I correct in saying I need H11 bulbs for the main beam? Any good install guides out there? I saw somewhere you have to drill a hole through the bulb plastic cover to run the ballast wires, I'm a bit skeptical about these things as if not done right they can cause moisture in the headlight. Also, regarding MOT - I heard you need projectors, head lamp levelling and headlight washers for a car to pass MOT with xenons, I have all of those except the washers...is that a problem?
  11. D'oh! Sod it, not really bothering me as long as it stays how it is. Might not even be the bearing as it is so quiet. Will live with it, unless it gets worse then I'll have a look at it.
  12. Yes, and I bought 1 year warranty as well but under the warranty under the clutch section they only cover the master and slave cylinders, but under the gear box section it says they cover bearings and bushes...is release bearing clutch or gearbox?
  13. Will hope so! Thank you :zee: Just a bit unusual for 30k !
