  1. I have a 1999 GS300 SE which has recently developed pulsating Brakes at low speeds. No sign of judder indicating Disc wear. I seems that ABS takes control at these low speeds giving the feeling of a loss of control and making smooth braking and 'take off' almost impossible, Any members thoughts?
  2. Hello again, At 40 mph I would expect 15 -1800 revs. As problem has recently occurred I haven't yet tried 70mph. However I will tomorrow as I'm making a Motorway trip Regards, Ted.
  3. Thank you for replying so promptly. IIn all respects the car is accelerating beautifully through the gears but 2800 revs at 40mph? Don't think so. Regards, Ted.
  4. Good afternoon. I have a 1990 GS300 with over revving problems. However, performance is OK and I can accelerate normally but revs on display are much higher than my actual speed. e.g. 40mph yields 2800 revs. which is clearly nonsense. Can't identify problem as no 'drop off'/hesitation with acceleration. Any thoughts anybody? Regards, Ted Soudan ps. I am this member. i.e. tedsoudan@gmail.com
  5. Hi Rick, The gearbox changes smoothly throughout the range and as I drive with the classic 'mix' of urban, 'A' road and Motorway i must have used all gears/changes throughout the 12,000 miles/14 months since the light first showed. Ted.
  6. Hi Rick, Thanks for your follow up. My real query is/was 'more than 12,000 miles and 14 months' seems a very long time for the solenoid(s) NOT to collapse. However, who can give a time frame to such circumstances. Regards, Ted.
  7. Thanks for your help Rick, but can you tell me why there is absolutely NO 'fall off' in performance if there is a problem? Regards, Ted.
  8. I have a 1999 GS300SE which has a continuous flashing ECT/PWR light. This would normally indicate Transmission problems. However, as I couldn't get into my local garage for a Diagnostic check for 2 weeks and given that there was no associated performance problems I continued to run the car in the interim. The diagnostic checked did indicate a transmission problem but wouldn't allow my garage to delete the code. Given the expense of new gearbox coils and that the car still drove without problems, I decided to carry on driving until/unless the vehicle CLEARLY manifested performance problems. More than 12,000 miles and 14 months later there are still no problems, with the ECT/PWR light flashing for the whole period. I suspect a faulty PART of the switch as the 'SNOW' mode which works off the same switch is fine and has been in use in the recent/current inclement weather. Anybody with any ideas. Lexus want to charge me £170 just for a diagnostic check and I am loathe to pay that especially as they are likely to indicate a Transmission fault code which I know cannot be the case as the car continues to perform faultlessly. Regards, Ted.
  9. Looking for a N/S Headlamp COVER (only) for a Lucerne Silver GS300 SE 1999.
  10. One of the Repeaters on the nearside wing of my 1999 GS300 SE was rippped off taking the bulb with it. I was then surprised to learn that none of the other indicators (or even Hazards) would work. Would this vandalism cause a short affecting ALL other indicators or will just repacing the 'lost' bulb solve the problem, albeit with the purchase of the cover and its gasket.
  11. Good afternoon, Anyone know of a supplier of Stainless Steel Wheel Arch extensions for a 1999 GS300 SE? Regards, Ted.
  12. Hi Dave, 4/5 hours. Which means you can wait. (I am not 'booked in' until 11.a.m., indicatiing a same day service). Regards, Ted
  13. Good Morning Dave, Thank you for your reply. I was quoted £599 with a lead time of 1.1/2 days from the same Company. I thought this was too much and after much research decided on West Coast Customs, Newport, who quoted £460 including tail pipes and VAT. Given that Newport is only 67 miles from where I live in Taunton and a very easy journey, a difference in price of £110(taking into account petrol costs and Severn bridge Toll) was too good to resist. I have booked in on Monday 29th June. I noticed that you are 'Booked in' for 20th July so perhaps you might want to look at my system before commitment. I will try to take before and after photos when I'm at West Coast. The West Coast Web Site gallery will give you a good idea of what they can do. Regards, Ted.
