  1. I had a similar sound on my is200 but coming from the drivers side. The problem was a dry inner wheel bearing seal. Remove the wheel, caliper and the caliper mounting bracket plus the disc then squirt some light oil or r40 into the gap at the rear of the hub-to try and lubricate the seal. Assemble and go for a test run to see if the sound is still there. Mine was quiet for a couple of days and then came back. I had a new wheel bearing and seals fitted - all ok now. Hope that might help.
  2. Had the same problem on our is200. Rattle at 2200 rev/min but only when accelerating. It was the heat shield around the exhaust-about half way down under the car. Cured by clamping the heat shield to the exhaust pipe with a large jubilee clip. Hope that helps.
  3. A while ago I had the same problem with my is200. Left my Samsung phone switched on in the centre dash compartment while parked and the alarm went off. Not left my phone in since-no alarm.
  4. Thanks for the replies. Had a look at a GS250 Luxury a couple of weeks ago. Looked good in the pics-not so good in the flesh. l know it was a 6year old car but scratches on the rear bumper, moss around the Windows & the seats could have done with a clean. The salesman said - oh just been sold 10 mins ago - so not disappointed, it wasn't the one. So while in the area called at Robinsons brewery for a few bottles - so not a wasted journey!
  5. Hi all, I have been an is200 owner for the last 15 years - 1st a manual & now an auto. Both great cars. So going to have a look at a GS250. Any thoughts or pointers souls be most welcome. Thanks in advance.
  6. I 2nd the above. Last year travelled from Derbyshire to WIM to get the alignment properly set on my is200. Can recommend.
  7. Hi all, Oil and filter change today. Can't see how the oil filter can be removed without taking off the engine under tray.
  8. Hi all, Cleaned & greased the front brakes on my is200-could tell they needed doing with the steering wheel woble at speed and the creaking sound when parking. The slide pins were sized-used molykote grease, see how that performs.
  9. Hi, Just a thought, try cleaning the contacts on the door interior light switches. Be careful not to lose the wire as there isn't much spare (tie a piece of string just behind the spade connector). Hope this helps.
  10. Hi, Removed rear brake pads cleaned & regreased. Also adjusted hand brake-ready for test tomorrow on my 2004 is200 auto.
  11. I use silicone sealant for my no. plates. Rough up the surfaces to ensure a good key then use masking tape to hold in place.
  12. Hi all. I am looking for a weatherproof top cover for my is200. With provision to fit over the rear mounted roof areial. Any help appreciated.
  13. I can also recommend wheels in motion at Chesham, Sorted my is200-worth the journey.
  14. Just clocked 123456 miles today. In my partners 2000 is200 6speed (was mine up to about 5yrs ago when I bought my 2004 is200 auto). She says it's still my car just in her name! Good to drive an auto and manual.
  15. Hoovered the air and pollen filters. Plenty of life left in them-must be the Yorkshire man in me...
  16. Hi, Like your is300. If you are getting steering wheel wobble it could be the wheels need balancing or can be that the front brake caliper slide pins are siezed-clean and lubricate with silicone grease, I have had the same problem on my is200. For service/repair I can recommend Dave at Lex-Tek Autos. 01909 774 300. Hunter alignment is good but most use Lexus factory settings which still causes the front tyres to ware on the inner edges. So - Tony Bones @ Wheels in Motion in Chesham has his own settings to eliminate this problem 01494 797825. Worth the trip as I went about 3 weeks ago. My is200 feels to handle better + the steering wheel is straight. Hope all that helps.
  17. Not yet but i still do. I wanted to remove it before I had a new windscreen fitted last Monday, since getting my is200 back the mirror vibrates-feels loose on the bonded mounting. So will be having a go soon.
  18. Thanks for the replies, I will give it a go.
  19. France Did 'La Route Napoleon' about 3 years ago in the is200 auto then on to Nice-brilliant.
  20. Hi all, I'm wanting to remove the rear view mirror on my 2004 is200. I understand its bonded to the glass, do I turn it to the left or right? Thanks for any help.
  21. A big thumbs up for W I M @ Chesham, Did a great job sorting out the alignment problems on my is200. Worth the 290mile round trip, can also recommend the beer from Tring brewery. Slight mishap on the on the way home-a stone hit and now got a cracked winscreen so waiting in today for autoglass to fit a new one. Thats life.
  22. Thanks for your digging. See how my results compare-makes interesting reading.
  23. Thanks for the replies. Decided to travel down from Derbyshire to WIM - booked in mid July. Staying in Tring for a couple nights + a trip to the local brewery so cant wait!
