  1. Thanks for that. I may have overstated the surface type a little. It does tap a bit on made up roads but does not seem to coincide with suspension activating bumps. Not a stone rattle in the wheel arch sort of noise. I might almost say it seems to happen at slower speeds, All suggestions appreciated,
  2. My 2004 RX300 64,000 miles, drives and performs as it should, and was an absolute delight driving down to Monaco and back last week, towing a heavy trailer for 1700 miles. The only irritation is that there is a kind of tapping from the rear nearside (I think) when the car is driving down our unmade road and occasionally on the highway as well. (maybe when it is rocking) Driving over normal lumps and bumps and pot holes in the road it is fine. The noise is not a heavy clonk as if the shocker/bushes have gone, and I have not noticed any handling problems from the rear. I was thinking maybe the anti roll bar setup, but that is just a shot in the dark. It really sounds more like something loose, swinging about, but I am at a loss what to look for, that is accessable. Any suggestion would be gratefully received. Suspension diagram attached in case it helps .
  3. Half way down gives the fixed price costs for various models. http://www.lexus.co.uk/owners/lexus-servicing/index.tmex#/Introduction
  4. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/83381-essential-care/?hl=%2Bservicing+%2Bpackage#entry830275 Lexus do a set price package for the older cars. Seems a fair price to me.

  6. This is my RX300 2004, so should be the same as yours I would think
  7. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/90808-updating-sat-nav-confusing/ May be for an RX300 but suppliers are probably the same,
  8. Hope this helps. Doesn't look too complicated really.
  9. I bought from this guy without any problems at all. It worked straight away faultlessly. http://www.ebay.de/itm/231217785848?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 Just confirm with the disc you have, that this is the correct one, from his list on his advert, or contact him, very helpful. In my 04 RX 300 the satnav machine is in the boot on the right hand side under the large removable floor, hidden behind a letterbox size vertical flap.
  10. From the image you quote mine is the same as yours !The one I bought, in the listing at the bottom says it was a replacement for, and had a long list of the orig discs. Is your disc in this list? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/231161720977 Is your disc faulty ?
  11. I ordered mine from Lexuspartsdirect.co.uk 4 plastic covers (2 L and 2 Rt) £14.21 each 75595-48011 and 75596-48011 4 brackets £2.71 each 63185-4202 (these hold the covers on.) VAT included and post included Total £67.68. The bolts (and 8 washers) are just M8 x25's as shown in the article and can be got anywhere very cheaply, stainless would be safer. Read and follow the artice and it is very easy to do.
  12. Mine is Gen 01 as well in 2004 RX300 and the 13/14 disc works fine.
  13. Easily removed. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-second-generation/454203-roof-rack-removal-procedure.html
  14. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/39085-cheap-sat-nav-dvd-updates/ Lots of info on this posting I bought one from Germany, arrived in only a couple of days, and worked fine in my 2004 RX300 (from joker4791 but was a good disc .http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/231161720977?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 ) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-Toyota-Lexus-original-navigation-DVD-E18-2013-2014-west-europe-TOP-/201073287977?pt=UK_CE_GPS_Accessories_Software_ET&hash=item2ed0e6e329 is on ebay now and this guy was also reccommended in my top link postings. 2013/2014 edition. Email him first to see if it is suitable for your specific vehicle. He advises that in his add
  15. I have just spent an hour or so just pushing buttons. I plugged my iPAD in and selected music on it, and it came through the speakers in the car but the title and music came on in the FM section not the CD. it would play all my music without playlists and be controlled from the iPAD. When disconnected it took some time for the TP to search for the stations that were pre-set on the radio but after a minute or two they all came back. I can see no logic to this yet, and have no set proceedure for doing all this, but will experiment more. Would like to know what unit I have so maybe a manual exists
  16. At least Colin it is being recognised. It is now just trying to get it to play. Any further suggestions ? I would expect someone out there to have a set up the same as mine, what ever that might be, so happy to try anything, or maybe be directed to a manual on line for an after market box that would give an insight as to what I am missing,
  17. OK Guys, Connected my iPod and then turned on the ignition. The iPod showed it was connected, and was charging. However when I pushed Disc once or several times, nothing happened except the various discs in the unit played as usual, and there was no sign of an extra disc that might relate to the iPod, and I could not scroll to another screen. This is probably just a quirk of the particular unit but not knowing what to try next is the problem. I don't suppose I am lucky enough to have one of those systems that come up on the screen, if so how do I get it there.
  18. Just another thought, should my iPAD with a playlist already in it, come up the same way as it is hoped my iPOD will ? Regards David D
  19. Thanks again Colin, have always plugged the iPod in after the ignition was on so something else to try this evening. Full of Hope, Will try and make a playlist as well. Regards David D
  20. Will try that this evening, thanks Colin. Pushing Disc twice, never occured to me. All sugestions gratefully received, Regards David D
  21. Hi Guys, I have just bought my first Lexus, an RX300 NAV on an 04 plate with 62000 miles in very nice condition. So far I love it, and I am still finding all the gadgets and switches and ploughing my way through the manuals. I have managed to turn off the seat belt warning gong as described on this site. Great site. I have in the glove box, a cable with an older wide type ipod plug on it that fits my iPod Nano 2 (and my iPad 2 as it happens). When connected all I get is a hissing through the speakers. It is obviously connecting to what ever is behind the fascia but not playing. I do not know what box the cable goes into, and would not be happy taking the fascia off to look (I have seen the other postings about how to do this). I have 6 CD's in the CD player and when the Disc button is pressed and the iPod is connected the ipod seems not to show up in the radio display as a CD which is what I was maybe expecting. How should I proceed to find out how to make the iPod play through the speakers? Thanks for your help, David D
  22. Sorry Guys, It is not immediately obvious what carbon/brushed aluminium wrapping is. It looks great and would like to do it on mine, how is it done Thanks DD
  23. Over the last couple of days I remember finding a long list of Lexus Fault Codes on line, but now can't find them again. Is a list pinned somewhere on this site, or can someone recommend where to go, Thanks David D. RX300 2005 Just found this. Is it the same for a Lexus ? http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/135-corolla-lounge/148676-obd-ii-trouble-codes-full-list.html
  24. If two come out of the woodwork, I would like the second one please, Regards David D
