  1. £450 .....that isnt that bad ! most manufacturers will charge about the same I know on my Honda was quoted roughly the same for a 20000 mile service is it a rip off, yes get a decent VAT registered mechanic, make sure he uses the same or recommended service items and your warranty will still be valid people say about a drop in resale value if it hasnt got a Lexus history, i believe that it is a bonus but doesnt reduce resale value significantly enough to warrant using a main dealer I know that my mechanic does far more and better work and for a lot less money
  2. overall you wont get better than WIM but for someone nearer Abbey Motorsports in Oxted are very competent and can cope with "modified"
  3. have you tried ebay or a local motor factors
  4. the back of the wheel, i hope !! they dont sound to good, it would need proper machine shop to do it with accurate measuring required and if they take 5mm off it will only give you a 40mm offset, still too close for comfort in my opinion be aware of the wheel getting close to the calipers as well

takes loads of work and even more money, not a straight swap by any means far cheaper and easier to buy a decent supra or equivalent
  6. I have heard of it being done It has to be done properly and can be successful and to be honest is the second best method, the first is getting the correct wheels, it sounds like the company you brought them from are admitting they are wrong so push them for the right wheels talk of adding camber and stretching tyres is the wrong way to approach things, both methods are problematic and can be a reason for an insurance company to invalidate your insurance
  7. click the flag ! next to your username (top of page)
  8. email addresses are visible through your profile to hide : go to (your) profile edit my profile settings privacy settings and tick "hide my email" other than that they are not visible
  9. normal ones are fine get good quality stainless steel replacements 8mm from memory
  10. they will fit although they might have been designed for the heavier IS300, so may have higher spring rates
  11. I have seen three years of the Toyota Sprint Series racing from old cars to brand new diesels will no ill effects on any of the cars how do you thrash an engine, with rev limiters the engine will only rev to what it is designed for the only real casualty will be tyre wear
  12. another way of telling real leather from fake is to put a flame on it synthetic will melt and blacken quickly, where as leather will resist it for a short period wouldn't recommend this method though :D
  13. My install went like this.... 1) Took off induction kit because it was overlapping the bolts on drivers side. 2) Realized that none of my sockets were deep enough to clear the bolts and get to the nuts. 3) Found a spanner that fitted after lots of hunting around house. 4) Got the nuts on one side off, fitted the tower part of the brace, realized that couldn't do nuts back up with spanner! 5) Put car back together and drove to halfords to find a deep socket. 6) Only had imperial markings on spanner, halfords only had metric. Purchased wrong one. 7) Got home. Took induction kit off again, realized that socket was wrong size 8) Put car back together again, drove to halfords, got correct socket this time! 9) Got home, took it all apart. Had trouble with one nut that was rusted to f*k 10) Had real trouble getting it all to bolt in - one of the bolt holes was about 0.5mm out and there was absolutely no give. 11) Finally got it all bolted up nice, then noticed that a little black box (Denso Ignition) which was originally bolted on to one of the suspension bolts wouldn't go back in its original place due to its mounting bracket not clearing the strut tower. 12) Had to bend the crap out of the bracket to get it to fit nicely somewhere else. 13) Job done! The easiest jobs are always the hardest with me :@ sounds an epic job at least you got there btw all nuts/bolts are metric on the IS
  14. it will be vibrations where it is now touching as said i hope your halfords is a distance away ! 4hours ? its only six nuts and one spanner !! glad you feel such an improvement
  15. its purely down to being an automatic
  16. two of the first items changed on the Fensport ISF were as quoted from Adrian Smith 1. was a Blitz throttle controller to attain a responsive throttle response in all transmission modes. This certainly made the car a lot more driveable and is a must do for IS F owners. 2. was the suspension, many owners and journalists have complained about the harsh ride quality and we soon agreed with them. A Tein comfort spec coilover kit has been fitted and tested, with its top adjustable 16 point adjustment the ride is so much nicer, allowing you to retain ride comfort for the road, and still stiffen the suspension in a few seconds for that spirited weekend track day.
  17. sounds like you have the wrong sized wheels, probably too high offset, common mistake either try rolling the arches or change the wheels changing bumpstops will not achieve anything, and certainly wont stop your wheels rubbing coilovers wont help unless your aim is to raise the car original sport springs were only 15mm lower than the se/s models
  18. are these only available for the is200/altezza ?
  19. if its the standard sport spoiler my advise is don't try it is bonded on and will not come off without damage !
  20. the standard ecu can not be remapped or chipped
  21. here it is in all its glory 1st registered in 1999 and is taxed/registered with a 1998cc engine exhaust seems to be a bit tight ! is that a bit of melting I see and those lights cant see a sunroof either ! that would make it an "S" model wouldnt it ?
  22. "fourth, the plate says nigas, so must be the best plate out there." actually the reg is : N16 ASG so if you squint you eyes and tilt your head, it does actually read N16ASG ......that must make it the best, obviously must have cost a fortune, perhaps you should sell it and buy the RS4
  23.:lol::lol: great entertainment £800 for your wheels, not cheap then i presume that works out at £2400 for all four and then you have tyres on top nearly what i paid then red cars probably do go for a little less second hand, that is unless you buy it brand new out the showroom, then strangely they are the same price perhaps I will have to ask the dealer for a bit of money off because it is red next time so you were looking to buy a rs4 !! £30,000's worth of car but ended up with a £4,000 car thats a bit of saving, still at least you could splash out on your wheels ! yes in reality I am a schoolboy, and I just happened to pester a magazine to get a front page and 6 page feature, they must have felt sorry for me as I had no job or life "nigas" .....is that scouse for something ? means nothing to me, unless your name is actually nigas !! so Nigas, it is very nice to meet you, perhaps you would like to let us know what engine you have, stop us all guessing although I imagine most of us have made our minds up what engine you have got in there, and would be very surprised if it was anything different :)
