  1. hey all.... bought a Gs450h a few weeks ago so thought i'd put some pics up on here to show her off a bit after a thorough wash and wax. I'm amazed at just how quick it is, of course i'd done my homework beforehand and took my time finding a good one but nothing really prepared me for that feeling the first time i had a clear road to have a little play. I'm really pleased with the car overall, comfort, speed, refinement, amazing sound system (ML audio) and fairly economical too!... anyway, i'll let the pictures do the talking!....
  2. Thanks for the reply Adrian. Took it to lexus Wolverhampton thisafternoon and they pretty much confirmed what you have said, so its booked in for next tuesday to have the work done under warranty, hopefully i'll get her back good to go.
  3. Hi all, only had my 57 plate GS450h for a few weeks but i'm finding the steering wheel is slightly off centre towards the left when i'm driving in a straight line and there seems to be a very slight oscillation at slower speeds around islands and long bends. I must mention that it was this way on the pre purchase test drive and i knocked the seller down by quite a bit (Private sale, knocked him down by £800!...). At the time i thought it may be a simple wheel alignment issue, but after taking it to have the alignment checked i was amazed to see with my own eyes that everything was spot on, camber, toe etc etc was all perfect!. the car does have a little bit of a transferred warranty left on it but not much, so i'm thinking of getting it to my local lexus dealer asap to see what they say. The car only has 29k on it and has new dunlops all round so i'm stumped on this one. The only thing i've picked up on from some internet research is the electric motor on the power steering being sometimes prone to failure, can anyone shed some more light on this for me, i'd be really grateful as i want to go to the dealer with as much knowledge/ammo as possible. thanks in advance guys.
  4. Hey guys, just bought my GS450H and was wondering if there was a way of using the nav unit etc whilst moving (my wife could input the data whilst i'm driving for example), i understand why lexus has done it this way from a safety point of view but its really annoying/frustrating to not be able to do anything whilst moving, its the only car i've ever known where you have to pull over to put in a new address etc and really backward if i'm honest!. Is there anything aftermarket out there that remedies this? thanks guys....
  5. Thanks for all the replies/advice guys. Well, i'm pleased to report that after 2 weeks of shopping around i finally took the plunge and bought the beauty you see below!.....(please excuse the rubbish iphone pics) could'nt be happier with it!... I really think i've found a fantastic example at a decent price, she's the the SE-L model with every single option known to man, including the lexus ipod connector in the glovebox, and with only 28,700 miles on her she'll be with me for quite some time i think. Just one more thing.... God these things shift!..
  6. Hi guys, i'm really new on here and thought this might obviously be the best place to get some much needed advice on purchasing my first gs450h. I'm aware of the cosmetic exterior differences between the pre facelift and facelft models but am a bit unsure about any interior changes? if someone could fill me in i'd be really grateful.... also, the interior rattles (i'm reading about them all over the net!.) is this something that affects all models sooner or later?, a local lexus tech person tells me the dash clips/design were changed from 2008 model onwards and this problem no longer occurs in the facelift models? or is he just trying for an employee of the month award?.... Reliability wise, what are they like?, hybrid longevity etc, how many of these things develop serious problems? I'm on a budget of around £11k so i'll have to take my time and shop around it seems. Any help massively appreciated.
  7. Hi guys.... I've just joined up on here and am looking to buy my first lexus just after xmas (IS250). My 59 plate accord es gt 2.0 petrol is sold (i was pretty dissappointed in it really!) and when all is said and done i'll have a fairly modest budget of around £10k to spend. So.... looking around this will get me a 2008 SE-L with all the toys in, i've actually found one with just 20,000 miles on and its pristine!, but i have a few questions... 1.is it definately worth going for one with the multimedia pack in?, how good is the sat nav? 2. i'm struggling to see what the differences are between the models, is the SE-L the top one? 3. If i end up going for one with say 50k miles on, will this be an issue?, what is considered high mileage on these? 4.I definately want an auto, what are people getting in terms of mpg? Recently i went to lexus wolverhampton and drove a 08 is250 SE-L and fell in love within 5 miles of the test drive, jumped back into the accord and felt thoroughly down in the dumps with the thing (even more so than before) the lexus was just that good!. Anyway, sorry for all the questions but thanks in advance for any help.
