Its illegal to use fog lights when there is no fog around, nothing to do with "technically" Mike Hi , the fog lights have been converted to drls using the " http://www.ringautomotive.co.uk/uk/products/Cars/Accessory+Lighting+-slash-+Styling/Accessory+Lighting/BRL0402 " quite simply replace the inside of the fog light with these round drl`s which actually DIM on side lights at night and if you need them as fog lights in fog then run the fog light circuit live wire through a 5 pin switch over relay making the drl`s inside the fog light bright when the main or side lights lights are on by switching off the auto dim feature .Many vehicles have round etc drl`s where these fog lights are so now the fog light itself has been removed and just the empty lense is there then there completly legal as there not fog lights anymore but can be used as fog lights if needed .Thank you.

Hi !Front fog lights on most lexus is200`s are very prone to get dirt and moisture inside due to the not clever idea of the cut outs on the inner wheel arch so all the water,salt etc goes through the vents ( or what ever there supposed to be lol ) straight onto the back of the fog light light which then rots the back/electronics etc and goes straight into the inside of the fog light .My is200 front fogs were that badly corroded at the rear when I removed them from the car ( 2 x 10mm bolts then tease out ) the fog lights were completely ruined where the bulb area sat inside and fell to bits.I then thought as I`ve been looking at where I could place drl`s ( day time running lights ) as there`s no where on the front of a is200 to put any I decided to see if I could place drl`s inside the front fogs and to my surprise I could so this is how I did it in which they now look fantastic and have fog lights working 100% as well ! Prob an idea to fill the gaps / Vents in on the inner wheel arch that let all the crap straight in over the back of the fog lights which caused the damage in the 1st place lmao !
