  1. My rx450h also had this issue before I sent it back to the garage from which it was bought (also due to being lied about the number of previous owners - which is a different story). Anyway, my stereo would turn on and off, and change between stereo modes. It seemed to do this mainly whilst turning sharply or going over bumpy parts of a road. After speaking to a Lexus technician they could only think it was a loose wire and said the stereo would be swapped with a reconditioned unit at the cost of between £1500 - £2000. I no longer own the car but thought it might be useful information on the site should another owner encounter this issue. Thanks.
  2. Thanks for the reply. So I presume this azure blue would only be on a newer IS rather than a 63 plate?
  3. I'm looking to buy a used is300h f sport and after some helpful advice on here from established members I've found a few that interest me. One of them is described as Azure blue. All the other blue versions are described as Ultra blue. Can anyone tell me what the difference is or are they in fact the same colour? many thanks.

    IS300h f sport

Thanks, looks like one in Leicester and 1 in Teeside. The one I test drove had a Mark Levinson speaker on the rear shelf, rear view camera and leather seats (or at least looked leather but did have a zip on the back of the seats?!?). Do these features come as standard or if not what does and what is worth having as an option? Thanks

    IS300h f sport

Thanks. Maybe I should have put a price range in here as well! 😀 The f sport seems to be few and far between and the dealers are charging slightly above my budget (and in my opinion more than what the premium model should be when compared to Bmw, Audi and Mercedes equivalent ... but that's a different argument). The one I missed out on was £15k for 90k miles with full Lexus service history. My budget would be up to £18k for the right spec. Cheers.

    IS300h f sport

After test driving an is300h f sport and missing out on buying it by a few hours I'm interested if anyone's putting one up for sale. Any colour and spec will be considered. Please let me know what you have. Thanks.
  7. I know this is an old thread but did the op get this fixed or has anyone else had this problem? Thanks
  8. After nearly changing my mind and buying a 63 plate, fully kitted out Vw Tiguan R line ..... I'm picking my 60 plate rx450h today. Just thinking of future costs but does the regenerative braking system need special parts? I.e are the brake pads, discs and rotors different from normal cars? Thanks.
  9. Thanks for the reply. Glad next major service isn't too big. Services will be done at lexus, the 3yr warranty is with Nissan should anything go wrong. is there any advantage to having the mark levinson sound rather than standard (eg DVD, hdd, dab)? thanks.
  10. Thanks, looks like I have done. It's a se-l in grey with black leather with 78k miles, 1 owner, full lex service history from a Nissan garage with their 3 yr warranty. Just been serviced and mot'd by themselves. 2 new tyres and full body machine polish. Deposit paid so pick up next week. Just thinking about a couple of simple mods for it now. Led lights all round, front and rear scuff plates, possibly roof bars. Any idea if the 80k service contains anything that isn't covered in the normal ones? I want to make certain that a full service has been completed. Thanks
  11. Thanks very much for the info. The spare wheel was in the boot as they had just replaced 2 tires so I couldn't be bothered lifting it up out of there to check underneath (it was lashing it down at that point and was getting soaked). Does the timing chain need any form of maintenance/replacement? I'm thinking for when the car approached the 80k and 100k services is there anything big that's needs looking at? i couldn't see the USB port at all and neither could the salesman - which is worrying. The warranty offered covers everything mechanical or electrical and will be done with Lexus parts and sent to the dealership if they can't fix it apparently (and includes AA cover). I know what you mean about dangerous at roundabout in Eco but knew it must be a simple setting as its 0-60 is 7.something secs. All in all it was a nice car and drive, even if I did try to start it 4-5 times without realising it was already on! Haha.
  12. Test drove the rx450h today and although I drove it quite conservatively, like a previous poster, I thought it felt a little slow. It's was definitely in Eco mode though. I've a few questions for existing owners if you don't mind? Does it have a spare wheel and if so where is it located? At what mileage should the cambelt be changed? Is there a USB port to charge a phone or play music? Ive been offered a non Lexus dealer warranty for £599 for 3 yrs. Is it worth it? Thanks in advance.
  13. It's not from Lexus but from a reputable dealer (rather than a back street dealer). I did this so that I'd have some come back should there be any problems. Would I be able to buy a Lexus warranty after buying the car even if I didn't buy from them?
  14. Thanks for the advice. Rather not put it on at the minute in case someone else snaffles it before me. Haha. I'll come back to you tomorrow when/if I put a deposit on it. I was tempted by the SE-L as I've read good things about the led headlights. I was more worried about any issues with the hybrid system and regeneration braking as I've no no experience of these. Thanks.
  15. Hi, after a couple of years and the thoughts of getting an isf, I've opted for space rather than speed. I'm going to test drive an rx450h tomorrow and thought I'd ask the experts if there's any obvious problems to look for in this vehicle. The consensus seems to be positive with this car so I'm really looking forward to it. It's an se-l model rather than an se-L, although I'm not sure whether to go for the more specced model. Any thoughts and advice would be welcomed. Cheers.
  16. Thanks for the opinions. Didn't realise that they would be so low tech for a Lexus. Probably not worth having for an extra premium. Cheers.
  17. Hi, Can't seem to find this anywhere but what's the opinion of the factory fitted rear DVDs screens in this vehicle as the optional extra? Anyone got these or had them in their car? They seem a very odd design protruding from the seat back and are not very discreet. Sorry, I can't even find an image of them to attach to show which ones I mean. Thanks.
  18. Haha, I like it. Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately it's got to be one or the other as my wife has just bought a 3 series Gt. I've had an RX in the past albeit not the hybrid model and I've had an is250 and is220d. My initial thoughts were to get an RX as there's still a burst of speed with practicality (same reason I'm looking at the Cayenne). However, no other car has put a smile on my face like my Aristo did which has drawn me to the ISF.
  19. Mike M quick question you if you don't mind? How does the rx450h and iSF compare having had both? I've got both on my radar at the minute along with a Porsche Cayenne turbo. However, I'm more swayed towards Lexus having had a few in the past. Cheers.
  20. The car was manufactured late nov 2005 so as far as know it falls under the £270 per year road tax bracket. Or at least that's what I'm hoping! :)
  21. Many thanks mate. Glad to be back in the Lexus fold with a manual is250 se. Nice car for the price.
  22. Just looking at an is250 right now. when you turn the electrics on (no engine) the engine light stays on until the car is started. Is this normal or does it mean an engine problem? Many thanks.
  23. Thanks guys. The reg date is late 2005 so I think it's £270 but there's no way I can afford to be surprised with a yearly letter asking me for £460. The car would be straight back on autotrader. :)
  24. Can anyone confirm if £460 is correct on a manual please as this would be a deal breaker and I'm about to go test drive it. Don't worry .... not buying it in the dark.
