  1. My IS also has cooled seats - I'll pay for them in July and August. Actually when you look at the cost £15 per month or £180 a year or £1800 over the lifetime of ownership of the car, I'll just wear a coat.
  2. Can I just pay for the heated seats in December and January then not pay the rest of the year?
  3. It seems as though for the moment anyway, you don’t have to log in to the BBC news web site only the apps.
  4. Instead of asking for a free tank of fuel with the car, you should ask for a free car with the tank of fuel!
  5. They work in a similar way to the 6 speed auto flappy paddles, but are a bit of a gimmick. Sometimes useful to change down a "gear" if you are about to want quick acceleration, eg for overtaking, or to change down a gear on a steep hill to maintain engine braking. You may also use a higher "gear" if starting on snow. More of a tick on a spec sheet than useful. Thanks Paul
  6. Thanks for the suggestions. More interest than I expected. Yes that is the web site I ordered from and they are supposed to last 6 months but ours lasted 3 washes although the my wife admits to maybe using it wrong to start with. I am not allowed to use it yet as I haven’t been trained or read the SOP 🙃 I haven’t tried back washing it but the machine still works even if it is full. I will try asking in curry’s where we bought it for advice also. Thanks Paul
  7. Ok, so this is probably the wrong forum but I wondered If anyone else had come across this. My wife has just got a new washing machine. It is a Grundig and one of the selling points is a new filter that catches micro fibers in the washing. It has a special FiberCatcher filter that collects the micro fibers. Great, we all want to do our bit for the environment. Once the filter is full you send it back for recycling and purchase a new one. So after about 3 washes it says it is full and needs replacing. We put the replacement in that came with the machine and I ordered some more from the web site. Now this is where it starts to go wrong. Web site takes my money but no confirmation email. I query using the online help/email no record of my order. I’m now trying to get a refund via my bank/credit card. Not wanting to defeated I ordered another one. This time I got an email receipt but price is in dollars on the receipt and the order number starts with US. The rest of the email lists a UK address etc. Well this one has not arrived and using the order tracking tool it has no reference to my order number. I tried to phone the help lines but you just go round in a loop “You can order spares from our web site”, and don’t get the chance to talk to a human. I have sent another email query to see it I can get any response. It seems such a shame they have a great new feature they are boasting about but have not got the support to back it up. Does anyone else have a similar washing machine and has managed to get spare fibercatcher filters? Thanks Paul
  8. Thanks for the comments and suggestions. I don’t really have any concerns about creating a bbc account I was just being awkward in not wanting to create another account with another password to use something I used to use without. I do enjoy reading some of the comments on the Have Your Say. Some give me a good laugh. I suppose I will have to create a bbc account in the end.
  9. Hi, I am looking for recommendations for a new general news app. I usually use the BBC news app but this keeps wanting me to sign in which I am reluctant to create an account to do. The sky news app is ok but often repeats the news item in multiple boxes. I want unbiased UK and world news. Any recommendations? I don’t mind making a small subscription for the right content. Thanks Paul
  10. I don't think build quality will be as important. The current price point for an electric car puts the cost into premium segment money and the premium electric cars are out of my price range. Example I paid £30K for my IS, and the wife has an electric Corsa on order for £30k. The limited Lexus electric range is £50K plus and out of the price I am prepared to pay for a car. Additionally with more lease and PCP deals, the car only has to last 3 years so build quality is not as important. As long as they still do Red.
  11. Shh. Don’t tell everyone. Welcome to the enlightened minority.
  12. Now there is a business opportunity for someone.
  13. Don’t cancel your order. You can probably sell for more when it arrives. If you can charge at home or work and won’t do more than 200 miles in one day then an electric car makes sense, but I would wait a few years to see what Lexus bring out in the future.
  14. Love the Bono joke - You Too!
  15. A few stolen from another forum. I bought a map from Bono. It’s rubbish. All the streets have no name and I still haven’t found where I’m looking for. My mate does backing vocals. It’s his voice you hear on the “This vehicle is reversing” message.
  16. Are BG fitting the Hive charger and is the App any good? I am looking at getting a charger installed for a non Lexus and wondered what the best options are. There seem to be a lot of different makes out there. Thanks Paul
  17. Hi Tony, Welcome to the forum. I guess no one knows an independent garage they can recommend Bristol way. (I am in Cheshire so no help). Was the car bought through a dealer, is their something you want advice with? Enjoy your new car, they are great. Thanks Paul
  18. Ok, so the only stupid question is the one not asked, so here goes. Is the passenger airbag light supposed to be on all the time. It comes on when I switch the car on and then stays on. I haven’t tried disabling the passenger airbag but would assume in that case it would go off and the other airbag light come on. So does the airbag light stay on all the time or go off after a time period when in normal driving? Thanks Paul
  19. Left hand side of the boot, their is a pull away cubby hole where the 12V battery is located. On top of this their should be the puncture repair kit (Gunk, Jack etc). This is strapped down with a "rubber band". Check this is secure and the Gunk etc is not bounding up and down on the battery. Hope that helps Paul
  20. Check the spare wheel gunk is fixed tightly to the top of the battery and the jack is in tight. mine was a bit loose and it seems better now. Now just need to sort the squeak at low speeds.
  21. I think I have this issue too. Had it for a few years. I have not got Lexus to investigate but nothing has fallen off yet. I did mention it at the last service but they didn’t report anything. I have not investigated further as it means taking a day off work to get it to the dealer.
  22. We have a smart meter and it cannot control which circuits are in use. It could only change the price dependent on time or whole house current (ampage) usage. It cannot cut supply off to the house. In any case I would have thought that it would not be legal to turn peoples electricity off at certain times, the contents of the fridge/freezer would go off, not to mention no lights to see where you are going at night. The safety aspect is a minefield.
